Responsible for implementing a driven, team-oriented culture, which embraces continuous improvements and ensures operational and process excellence across the board in all areas.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nThis document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying the position.\nSupervise and manage activities directly related to daily business and department needs\nDevelop, analyze, and deliver simple to complex information to direct reports\nEffectively communicate daily schedules, goals, quality issues and concerns between shifts to ensure customer expectations are met\nProvide mentoring, leadership, and direction to employees\nEnsure individuals receive job-specific training and make sure personnel are compliant with all applicable training requirements\nAssign work assignments based on daily department needs, ensure quality products are produced and successfully achieve department metrics\nAssisting management in establishing and achieving program goals and objectives for the department including Continuous Improvement projects\nIdentify and elevate issues to management\nFacilitate assessment of team’s knowledge, skill, and ability for accomplishing projects and tasks\nRepair broken or damaged parts\nFabricate and revise fixtures, jigs, gauges, hand applies and special tooling and components\nKeep work area clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities\nWork with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency\nAny additional duties as reasonably assigned by management\n\nREQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE\nAny combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:\nHigh school diploma or GED\nCompletion of a one-year certificate program in Welding from a college or technical school\n5+ years related experience\n3+ years leadership or supervisory experience in a shop environment\nExperience with steel, aluminum, and Invar 36\nExperience with MIG, TIG, and Flux welding processes\nThis position must meet Export Control Compliance requirements, therefore a \"US Person\" as defined by 22.C.F.R. is required\nMust obtain a Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nAbility to effectively handle tasks in a fast-paced environment\nAble to work varied shifts, overtime and weekends when necessary\nHas confidence in leading processes, projects and looks for opportunities\nAbility to work with management team to help drive performance of location\n\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY\n2nd Shift Fab and Form Department \n\nTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS\nMost travel is primarily local during the business day.
