You'll review revenue recognition and project billing, own financial systems and reporting in Microsoft Business Central, manage sales tax compliance, approve payments and expenses, prepare weekly projections, and lead our staff accountants, including an offshore Senior Staff Accountant. You'll report to the CFO.\nThis is a hybrid role based at our St. Petersburg, Florida office, so candidates should live in or near the Tampa Bay area. It suits a hands-on leader who likes building strong controls, improving processes and systems, and turning the numbers into clear answers for leadership.\n Responsibilities:\n(Approximate share of ongoing time shown for each area.)\nReview revenue recognition and project billing (~25%)\nReview, correct and process monthly CRC revenue, and reconcile it. \nReview revenue recognition schedules and journal entries, PS billing, and the PS billing reconciliation. \nLead the monthly CRC and managed services meetings with the delivery teams and resolve open questions. \nReview closed deals at month end. \nLead the month-end close and financial reporting (~20%)\nReview and approve journal entries, and complete the monthly P&L check and general ledger review. \nPerform the final month-end review and reconcile Fifth Third bank transactions weekly. \nPrepare monthly financial packages for SP6, ASCERA and 112Cyber and present results at entity All Hands meetings. \nReview weekly P&L views for each entity. \nOwn financial systems and reporting (~20%)\nBuild and maintain Business Central reports for leadership and the accounting team. \nAdminister the Stripe and PIEE platforms and unlock timesheets as needed. \nApprove payments and maintain controls (~10%)\nApprove Business Central bills, Fifth Third and XE payments, and Fifth Third Positive Pay exceptions. \nMonitor Ramp out-of-policy alerts and reconcile Ramp transactions monthly. \nTrack rebates. \nManage sales and state tax (~10%)\nReconcile Avalara and manage sales tax filings and changes. \nReview invoices for sales tax and complete the monthly sales tax review. \nRespond to state letters and notices, and manage state registrations and renewals. \nPrepare projections and leadership reporting (~10%)\nPrepare and review weekly projections and the weekly cash overstatement calculation for leadership. \nLead the accounting team (~5%)\nHold weekly one-on-ones with staff accountants and support their development. \nManage quarterly bonus forms and goals tracking, and oversee payroll prep, submission, register review and reporting.\nSuccess in the first year looks like:\nThe close completed on a consistent monthly calendar, with reviewed financial packages for all three entities. \nCRC and PS revenue reviewed and reconciled every month. \nSales tax filings, state notices and registrations kept current. \nReliable Business Central reporting for leadership. \nA trained, well-supported accounting team, including the offshore Senior Staff Accountant. \nRequirements\n What you bring:\n6+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years as an assistant controller, accounting manager or senior accountant leading others. \nBachelor's degree in accounting or finance. \nStrong knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition (ASC 606) for software, professional services and managed services. \nExperience leading a multi-entity month-end close and preparing financial packages. \nAdvanced Microsoft Business Central reporting skills, plus ERP administration or implementation experience. \nWorking knowledge of multi-state sales tax compliance, ideally with Avalara. \nA strong controls mindset and sound judgment. \nClear, direct communication with leadership, sales and delivery teams. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nCPA or CMA. \nMicrosoft Business Central experience or a similar ERP. \nBackground in IT reselling, cybersecurity or government contracting. \nExperience with Ramp, Stripe or PIEE. \nExperience managing offshore or remote team members. \nBenefits\n Why SP6?\nThe chance to lead a team in a high-growth markets \nCompetitive salary \nQuarterly Bonus plan \nComprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans. \n401(k) with company match \n30 days annual paid time off \nSignificant Training and Development and Certification attainment. \nOpportunity for long-term career advancement. \nYour contributions are felt and recognized at our growing company \nAbout SP6 :\nAI use made Secure, Compliant, Resilient\nSP6 ensures that organizations get Beyond the Buzzwords ® and delivers Expert Services centered around (3) convergent areas: AI Governance, AI Security, and AI Systems Resiliency.
