We are now looking for a Senior Software Test Engineer to join our R&D organization in Cluj and contribute to the quality assurance of Ascom’s DECT and Wifi handsets portfolio.\nAbout the Role\nAs a Senior Test Engineer in the Mobility Integration & Verification team, you will play a key role in ensuring that Ascom products meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability.\nYou will design and execute test cases both manual and automated for DECT and Wifi handsets. You will be working closely with colleagues and relevant stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into robust test suites.\nThis is a hands-on, impactful role where you help shape how we test, improve, and deliver products used across the world.\nYour Contributions\nIn this role, you will:\nElaborate, design and implement test cases based on requirements for embedded software in our DECT and Wifi handset portfolio with a focus on functionality, reliability and performance.\n\nDevelop and maintain test environments and test automation frameworks.\n\nAutomate test cases in Python\n\nExecute manual both manual and automated testcases\n\nDrive the quality of test objects, including scalability, performance, and reliability aspects.\n\nDetect, analyze, and report defects in Jira.\n\nContribute to continuous improvements.\n\nEnsure all work is conducted in alignment with Ascom’s values, environmental standards, and safety regulations.\n\nStay up to date with relevant technologies and technical developments.\n\nAct as a mentor for Test Engineers\n\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in IT, Software Engineering, or similar\n\n6-10 years experience in a similar software testing role\n\nFamiliarity with standard software testing processes; ISTQB Foundation is a plus.\n\nSolid experience from agile development and fast paced environments (3-5 years).\n\nTechnical Skills\nStrong expertise with test equipment, test engineering, and software testing methodologies.\n\nSetup and maintain test objects in a lab environment\n\nExperience with test planning and test case creation.\n\nGood knowledge of test automation tools and frameworks.\n\nExperience testing complex systems with multiple integrations.\n\nSolid Experience in implementing tests in Python\n\nKnowledge of Telecommunication, IT (IP network, WiFi)\n\nFunctional Skills\nStrong mindset for product quality with the ability to find defects in the test objects.\n\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams in different countries.\n\nGood knowledge of systematic troubleshooting\n\nWhat We Offer You\nAt Ascom, you will have the opportunity to:\nVerification of software that contributes to products and solutions used in critical environments such as hospitals and secure establishments.\n\nWork with experienced colleagues in an international R&D organization.\n\nWork in a collaborative environment that values knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.\n\nDevelop your technical and professional capabilities through meaningful assignments and collaboration.\n\nEnjoy a flexible, friendly, and international workplace.\n\nReady to Apply?\nIf this sounds like your next step, we would love to hear from you!
