We are now looking for a Software Engineer to join our R&D organization in Gothenburg and contribute to the development and maintenance of Ascom’s products and solutions.\nAbout the Role\nAs a Software Engineer in the Mobility Functionality DECT/WiFi team, you will play a central role in our product development. You will design, develop and maintain software for handsets, infrastructure and personal alarm devices. You will be working closely with colleagues and relevant stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into robust software features.\nYou will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from technical requirements and design through implementation, verification and continuous improvement. The role also includes supporting the resolution of customer issues and improving our products through maintenance and refactoring. You will work in an agile and collaborative R&D environment where software quality, reliability, performance and maintainability are key priorities.\nYour Contributions\nIn this role, you will:\nElaborate, design and implement embedded software solutions with a focus on functionality, reliability and performance.\n\nDevelop embedded software for real-time communication devices and infrastructure products.\n\nDesign and implement low-level drivers and hardware near functionality.\n\nWork with real-time operating systems and multitasking/inter-process communication.\n\nDevelop network communication stacks.\n\nContribute to radio communication features and protocols.\n\nCollaborate with hardware, quality and cross-functional stakeholders\n\nParticipate in system architecture and technical design decisions, including investigating and proposing solutions.\n\nUnderstand customer and stakeholder requirements and translate them into software features.\n\nCreate technical requirements and design documentation and contribute to user documentation.\n\nCollaborate with colleagues to improve technology, development practices and ways of working.\n\nSupport the investigation and resolution of customer-related software issues.\n\nFollow applicable operational documents, development procedures and agile working methods.\n\nStay up to date with relevant technologies and technical developments.\n\nThe Ideal Candidate\nWe believe you have:\nA bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.\n\nApproximately two to five years of experience designing and developing software.\n\nExperience in object-oriented C++ development for embedded systems.\n\nExperience with real-time OS, multitasking, and inter-process communication.\n\nExperience with low-level C/C++ development for drivers and data communication.\n\nExperience with communication and data security protocols.\n\nExcellent English skills (spoken and written)\n\nFluent in Swedish\n\nThe ability to analyze technical challenges, identify root causes and develop practical solutions.\n\nStrong communication and collaboration skills.\n\nA customer-focused mindset and an interest in understanding how technology creates value for users.\n\nA proactive approach to learning and professional development.\n\nWhat We Offer You\nAt Ascom, you will have the opportunity to:\nDevelop software that contributes to products and solutions used in critical environments.\n\nWork with experienced colleagues in an international R&D organization.\n\nContribute to the full software development lifecycle.\n\nWork in a collaborative environment that values knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.\n\nDevelop your technical and professional capabilities through meaningful assignments and collaboration.\n\nJoin Us and Make an Impact\nIf you are a collaborative and curious Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and developing high-quality software, we would be happy to hear from you.\nApply today and join our R&D team in Gothenburg.\nAscom is committed to providing an inclusive workplace where individuals are treated fairly and with respect.
