Founded in 1997, and providing nationwide services, ASG has teams based in North America, South America, and Europe.\nSenior Airtable Data Operations Architect\nAdvanced Systems Group (ASG) is seeking a Senior Airtable Data Operations Architect to lead the implementation of an enterprise data ecosystem for a major global live-streaming and commerce platform through an embedded engagement. This is a full-time, on-site position, 5 days per week, in the office in Culver City, CA, New York City, or Seattle, WA.\nCandidates must live within a commutable distance of the work location, and we are not considering relocation at this time.\nAll applicants must have Airtable experience to be considered. Please read the job description carefully before applying.\nAbout the Role\nYou will operate as a senior technical lead within the Client’s live production and business operations environment, turning fragmented workflows and operational data into reliable, scalable systems that drive visibility, accountability, and decision-making. The architecture is designed, the roadmap is approved, and the ecosystem foundation is in place. The heavy build work lies ahead, and you will lead it. This is not a maintenance role.\nThe scope spans multiple departments, numerous bases, and integrations with several external systems, and it will grow as the organization expands. You will lead a small team of embedded team members, set technical direction, and assign build work, without formal people-management responsibilities. You are expected to lead architecture decisions and drive the build forward independently.\nHow We Work\nThis is a documentation-driven organization. questions.\nResponsibilities\nTechnical Leadership and Architecture\nLead the build-out of an enterprise Airtable ecosystem, creating the foundational framework that connects disconnected systems at scale\n\nDesign and govern a multi-layer architecture that includes source tool integrations, centralized data hubs, departmental child bases, and executive output layers serving multiple teams simultaneously\n\nDevelop governed, scalable data models that normalize metadata across Airtable, Smartsheet, and external API sources\n\nDefine and maintain standards for schemas, data agreements, field-level governance, data flow documentation, and SOPs\n\nEnsure data reliability, consistency, and long-term maintainability across all interconnected bases\n\nData Governance and Access Control\nDesign and enforce a governance framework that controls what data is shared across bases, what stays private within a team, and what is shared with executives\n\nBuild and maintain field-level and base-level permission structures so the right people see the right data\n\nMaintain a single source of truth for shared fields such as people, titles, statuses, and campaign identifiers across all connected bases\n\nWorkflow Intelligence and Automation\nTranslate complex, manual, human-driven workflows into structured, repeatable, observable systems\n\nBuild and direct automations that trigger notifications, assign ownership, flag inconsistencies, and surface operational risks without manual intervention\n\nArchitect data movement between systems using AWS S3 and Lambda or a comparable integration platform\n\nDesign logic-based transformations that connect data across internal bases and external API sources\n\nBuild mechanisms to monitor workflow health, detect data staleness, and surface risks in real time\n\nDashboarding and Visualization\nDesign, develop, and maintain Airtable interface dashboards that give real-time visibility into KPI health for creative and business stakeholders\n\nBuild executive-facing views that aggregate data from multiple bases into a single clean visualization without exposing underlying complexity\n\nCross-Functional Partnership\nPartner with studio operations, production, post, finance, and business stakeholders across multiple teams\n\nAct as a trusted technical advisor, translating business needs into durable data systems and recommending better approaches when requirements fall short\n\nCollaborate with analytics and reporting teams to enable downstream insights\n\nSenior-Level Ownership and Influence\nProactively challenge business requirements and push back to ensure the most efficient architectural outcome rather than simply executing instructions\n\nOperate independently on complex problems with minimal direction and a high tolerance for ambiguity\n\nDrive long-term roadmap planning for the operational data ecosystem\n\nIdentify opportunities to simplify tooling, reduce operational friction, and improve data trust\n\nProvide technical leadership to a small team by assigning and directing build work, reviewing output, and mentoring junior team members, without formal people management duties\n\nRequired Experience\nDeep hands-on Airtable experience, including architectural design and structural building of new database systems, complex relational schemas, and multiple bases within large-scale ecosystems (required)\n\nExperience building and governing multi-base environments where multiple teams pull from a shared data layer, including field-level and base-level permissions and access controls (required)\n\nExperience with AWS S3 and Lambda or a comparable integration platform, architecting connections that move data between systems (required)\n\nExperience connecting Airtable to external platforms and data sources via API, including authentication, data mapping, and troubleshooting broken connections (required)\n\nStrong scripting and automation skills, with experience writing and directing automations (required)\n\n7+ years of experience in data engineering, operations engineering, or workflow systems design\n\n5+ years of experience designing and operating data structures used for analytics and operational reporting\n\nExperience working within large enterprise environments where integrations require navigating corporate systems and formal approval processes\n\nAbility to pivot and architect alternative solutions when a preferred approach is blocked by platform restrictions or organizational constraints\n\nExperience acting as the sole decision-maker for a technical data system\n\nExperience providing technical direction and assigning work to team members without formal people management responsibilities\n\nStrong written communication and documentation skills, with comfort working within a formal written review process where approvals take time\n\nProven ability to operate in ambiguous environments, learning unwritten norms and processes through research and by asking the right questions\n\nPreferred Experience\nMedia and Entertainment experience (studio, production, or network) for an immediate grasp of industry vernacular\n\nAdvanced SQL, data modeling, and transformation logic\n\nExperience with cloud-based data platforms and services (data warehouses, object storage, ETL/ELT tools)\n\nExperience with Tableau or QuickSight dashboards\n\nExperience building governed datasets used across multiple stakeholder groups\n\nExperience establishing metadata
