This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Manufacturing division. This position will report to Plant Manager.\nPosition Summary\nThe Assistant Production Manager is responsible for supporting and leading day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and in compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements. The role oversees dispensing, blending, equipment operations, manpower allocation, documentation, cleaning validation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives while fostering a strong culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.\nJob Description\nKey Responsibilities\nProduction Planning & Execution\nSupport the Plant Manager in executing daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.\nEnsure timely completion of manufacturing batches as per production schedule.\nCoordinate with Warehouse, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Engineering, and Supply Chain departments to ensure seamless operations.\nMonitor production performance and take corrective actions to address bottlenecks and delays.\nEnsure optimum utilization of manpower, equipment, and resources.\nManufacturing Operations\nSupervise and oversee operations of:\no Amixon Blender\no V-Blender\no IBC Blender\no Dispensing Systems\no CIP (Clean-In-Place) Systems\no Material Handling Equipment\nEnsure equipment qualification status and readiness before production.\nMonitor critical process parameters and compliance with approved Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs).\nReview line clearances before commencement of operations.\nGMP & Documentation Compliance\nEnsure strict adherence to cGMP, GDP, SOPs, and site quality systems.\nReview and verify Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), logbooks, and associated production documents.\nEnsure real-time documentation practices are followed by operators and supervisors.\nSupport investigations related to deviations, incidents, out-of-specification results, and customer complaints.\nParticipate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits.\nDispensing & Material Management\nEnsure dispensing activities are performed accurately according to approved procedures.\nVerify material identification, status labels, and reconciliation activities.\nEnsure material traceability and inventory accuracy within the production area.\nCoordinate with warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of materials.\nCleaning & CIP Management\nEnsure proper execution of cleaning and CIP activities as per validated procedures.\nReview cleaning records and ensure compliance with cleaning schedules.\nCoordinate with QA for cleaning verification and validation requirements.\nDrive initiatives to reduce cleaning downtime and improve equipment availability. \nPeople Management\nSupervise Production Operators and Supervisors on shift activities.\nConduct training and qualification of production personnel on SOPs, GMP, safety, and operational requirements.\nDevelop team capability through coaching and performance management.\nEnsure manpower availability through effective shift planning.\nSafety, Health & Environment (EHS)\nPromote a strong safety culture across all manufacturing activities.\nEnsure compliance with EHS procedures, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems.\nLead accident, near-miss, and unsafe condition investigations.\nImplement corrective and preventive actions arising from safety observations.\nDrive the objective of Zero Lost Time Injuries (LTI).\nEnsure proper use of PPE and compliance with safety standards.\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.\nLead Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nMonitor production KPIs and implement actions to improve performance.\nSupport equipment localization and cost optimization projects.\nIn more than 100 countries, the people of Ashland LLC.
