This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Engineering function. This position will report to Plant Manager.\nThe responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:\nAssist in improving product quality and process efficiency through technical studies and experimentation\nImprove process operations by providing technical support and process troubleshooting\nDevelop process designs and procedures for new products\nProvide accurate and detailed reports for tests conducted\nAssist in reviewing process designs and procedures to ensure safe and environmentally sound operation of the facility\nProvide programming assistance for the process control computers in the plant\nUnderstand and comply with plant safety and environmental policies. Report all safety, environmental and quality risks and hazards and chemical releases\nComplete all activities in accordance with good manufacturing practices\nLead the facility’s continuous improvement program focusing on implementation of Lean manufacturing practices including 5S, visual management, Lean Six Sigma projects, and operations alignment\nIn order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:\nB.S. in Engineering or a related engineering degree\nGood written and oral communication skills are required\nThe following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:\nB.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 2-3 years of engineering experience\nKnowledge in programming PLCs and ladder logic.\nKnowledge of lean manufacturing techniques\nPolymer chemistry\nBulk powder handling expertise\nThird-party recruiters and agencies (“Agency”) should not contact Ashland employees or employees of its subsidiaries directly.
