In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing specialist Mechanical Solutions equipment to the highest standards. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong mechanical and hydraulic awareness, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.\nWhat you’ll be doing:\nPrepare, inspect, and test equipment for hire, ensuring all items are fully functional, complete, accurately documented, photographed, and professionally presented.\nDiagnose faults and carry out repairs, rebuilds, and preventative or corrective maintenance on a wide range of equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic tools.\nSafely store, package, and secure equipment in accordance with company procedures and transport requirements.\nOperate vehicles and equipment as required for diagnostics, delivery, and collection purposes.\nOff-hire, inspect, and test equipment returned from hire, documenting and reporting any missing or damaged items.\nAccurately complete work orders within the ERP system and create parts lists to coordinate repair-related parts orders.\nDeliver parts and equipment to customers when required and provide on-call technical support on a rotational basis.\nTravel offshore or dockside to support client operations as needed.\nWhat you'll bring:\nRelevant qualification in Mechanical / Hydraulic or other similar technical discipline and/or equivalent industry experience.\nExperience working with diesel mechanics.\nExperience in a Mechanical role undertaking repair, maintenance and testing of mechanical equipment, preferably in a subsea environment.\nAbility to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform maintenance/service.\nStrong problem-solving capabilities and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.\nOffshore experience is preferred.\nWho we are:\nEstablished in 1985, Ashtead Technology is a leading provider of subsea equipment rental solutions, advanced underwater technologies, and support services to the global offshore energy sector.
