Your work will directly support robotics, gas delivery systems, temperature control hardware, and factory automation, delivering real-time solutions that drive chip production. Based in Singapore, you'll collaborate with global engineering teams and play a key role in shaping the future of semiconductor automation and equipment connectivity. You will play a key role in advancing ASM's software engineering capabilities through the responsible adoption of AI-enabled development, helping teams accelerate problem resolution, improve software quality, and scale engineering excellence across global product platforms.\nWhat you will be working on\nDesign, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.\nDevelop applications for Windows and real-time operating systems.\nTroubleshoot and resolve issues within real-time control systems.\nDiagnose and resolve software, electrical, and mechanical system issues.\nLead technical escalation e􀆯orts with field engineers and global customers.\nPartner with Quality Assurance and Support teams to investigate issues and improve regression test coverage.\nAuthor and review software requirements, system specifications, design documents, and test plans.\nInvestigate internal and customer-reported issues and develop effective solutions.\nEvaluate and recommend software engineering tools, processes, and best practices.\nParticipate in system architecture, design, and scheduling initiatives.\nIntegrate and support factory automation interfaces, including SECS/GEM and related industry\nprotocols.\nCollaborate with automation teams to ensure reliable communication between manufacturing\nequipment and factory systems.\nWhat we are looking for\nMinimum a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field\nStrong software development experience using C#.\nMinimum 5 years of experience in software development, either in a full-stack or systems-focused environment.\nMinimum 10 years of software development experience, including software architecture and system design.\nExperience developing machine control software, preferably for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.\nHands-on experience with factory automation systems.\nFamiliarity with SECS/GEM, GEM300, and EDA (Interface A) protocols.\nExperience working with Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS).\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nFamiliarity with AI-assisted development tools, large language models (LLMs), and modern software engineering practices leveraging generative AI.\nAbility to travel 10-25% domestically and internationally.\nWhat sets you apart\nStrong knowledge of Windows and real-time operating systems.\nExperience building multi-threaded and real-time applications.\nHands-on experience with GUI development and device drivers.\nKnowledge of networking, industrial communications, and EtherCAT.\nUnderstanding dynamic scheduling algorithms and deadlock avoidance techniques.\nAbility to analyze complex system interactions and drive long-term technical improvements.\nHands-on experience integrating AI, machine learning, or data-driven solutions into production software systems or engineering workflows.\nApply today to be part of what’s next.\nWe make the tech that enables the chips in devices which improve lives around the world.
