By combining software architecture analysis, artificial intelligence, and Python development, you will contribute to an innovative prototype with potential future applications within ASML.\nYour assignment\nDuring this internship, you will investigate how AI-supported development methods can be used to analyze existing software and accelerate prototype creation. You will will use AI-supported development tools to extract architectural and design rules from the documentation and codebase and consolidate them into persistent, reusable artifacts. These artifacts should describe the scheduler's behavior, responsibilities, interfaces, configuration rules, and hidden assumptions. They will subsequently serve as context for implementing a functional Python-based prototype scheduler.\nYour main responsibilities will be:\nAnalyze existing software architecture and technical documentation.\nExtract design rules and software requirements using AI-assisted development tools.\nDevelop a Python-based scheduler prototype.\nDocument software behavior, interfaces, and configuration requirements.\nValidate the prototype in a development or testing environment.\nEvaluate the opportunities and limitations of AI-assisted software development.\nPresent findings and recommendations to stakeholders.\nThis is a bachelor or master internship for minimum 6 months, 5 days per week (2-3 days on-site). The start date of this internship is as of February 2027.\nYour profile\nTo be suitable for the internship, you:\nAre pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.\nHave experience with Python programming.\nHave an interest in artificial intelligence, software engineering, and embedded systems.\nAre analytical, proactive, and comfortable solving complex technical problems.\nCan communicate technical findings clearly and work effectively with different stakeholders.\nThe internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with AI-assisted software engineering in a highly innovative environment. Through this internship you will develop valuable technical skills while contributing to real engineering challenges.\nOther requirements you need to meet:\nYou are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship, and you are at least 18 years old at the start of the internship;\nIf you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement);\nYou attach your cover letter with a clear motivation on why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;\nYou need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship.
