Our mechatronics engineers use MATLAB-based analysis tools to evaluate system dynamics and performance using large sets of measurement data.\nAs our analysis needs evolve, these engineering tools need to evolve with them. Many have been developed and extended over time by different engineers, which means that understanding the existing methods often requires combining code investigation, technical documentation, and knowledge from experienced engineers. We are looking for a co-op student who is excited to work at the intersection of mechatronics, data analysis, signal processing, and software development.\nRole and responsibilities\nYour primary assignment will be to develop and improve MATLAB-based analysis tools for DUV Reticle Stage dynamic performance, with a particular focus on power spectral density (PSD) analysis and visualization.\nYou will work closely with experienced ASML mechatronics engineers to understand existing analysis methods, identify requirements, implement improvements, and validate the results against existing engineering analyses.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nDevelop and update MATLAB tools for analysis and visualization of Reticle Stage dynamic performance data, particularly PSD and frequency-domain analysis.\nLearn how existing analysis tools and methods work by reviewing MATLAB code, available documentation, and example datasets.\nInterview and collaborate with mechatronics engineers to gather requirements and uncover engineering knowledge that may not yet be fully documented.\nTranslate engineering requirements into maintainable MATLAB functions, analysis workflows, and visualizations.\nValidate new or modified analysis methods against known datasets and existing engineering results.\nInvestigate discrepancies and work with subject-matter experts to determine whether they originate from data processing, algorithms, assumptions, or implementation.\nImprove usability and documentation so future engineers can understand and confidently use the analysis tools.\nParticipate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from the mechatronics engineering team.\nThis assignment offers the opportunity to work on a real precision-mechatronics system while gaining hands-on experience with engineering data analysis, signal processing, MATLAB development, and collaborative problem solving.\nThis position is located on-site in Wilton, CT. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation. Must be available for 6 to 9 months\nEducation and experience\nWe are looking for a college junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Robotics, or a related engineering field, who is available for a 6-month co-op assignment.\nTo be successful in this role, you should have:\nTechnical skills\nExperience programming in MATLAB through coursework, projects, research, or previous internships/co-ops.\nUnderstanding of fundamental mechanical dynamics and vibrations.\nFamiliarity with signal processing and frequency-domain analysis, such as Fourier transforms, frequency response, or power spectral density.\nAbility to work with experimental or measurement datasets and create clear engineering plots and visualizations.\nA structured approach to testing and validating computational results.\nFamiliarity with Git, SVN, or another version-control system is beneficial but not required.\nPersonal skills\nStrong curiosity and willingness to dig into an unfamiliar technical problem.\nComfortable approaching engineers, asking questions, and gathering information from multiple subject-matter experts.\nAble to take loosely documented requirements and turn them into a structured engineering solution.\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, particularly when validating numerical results.\nAble to work independently while actively seeking feedback and collaborating with an engineering team.\nClear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical work for future users.\nThe current base hourly range for this role is currently:\n$18.00 to $48.00 per hour\nPay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members\nThis position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.
