This team will develop advanced physical modeling technologies that enhance next-generation semiconductor inspection solutions. You will lead a team responsible for developing simulation and modeling capabilities, including SEM image formation, electron-beam interactions, voltage contrast, and related physics-based methods. These technologies will support both traditional and AI-driven inspection algorithms, enabling faster innovation and improved defect detection performance for our customers. This is a highly visible leadership role that combines team building, technical strategy, product delivery, and cross-functional collaboration.\nRole and responsibilities:\nBuild and lead a high-performing team\nRecruit, hire, and develop a world-class team of physics and algorithm engineers\nFoster technical excellence, innovation, and a strong engineering culture\nCoach and grow future technical and organizational leaders\nDeliver customer value\nLead the development and delivery of production-ready algorithm solutions through regular software releases\nOwn the end-to-end lifecycle, from requirements definition and technology development to deployment and customer support\nEnsure solutions meet the performance, quality, and scalability requirements of high-volume semiconductor manufacturing\nDrive technical innovation\nEstablish and execute the roadmap for physics-based modeling technologies\nAdvance capabilities in SEM image simulation, electron-beam physics, voltage contrast modeling, and related domains\nDrive adoption of AI-enabled software development practices to improve engineering productivity and velocity.\nCollaborate across the organization\nPartner closely with computer vision, machine learning, and product engineering teams to deliver integrated inspection solutions\nWork with product management, systems engineering, applications, and marketing teams to define priorities and align deliverables\nContribute to the long-term technology strategy for e-beam inspection\nPerform other duties as assigned or required\nEducation and experience\nPhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline\n4+ years of engineering management experience leading teams of 5 or more engineers\nDemonstrated experience building and scaling engineering teams\n10+ years of technical leadership in physics-based modeling, computer vision, machine learning, or related fields\nExperience in semiconductor industry strongly preferred, including supporting deployments in customer fabs\nSkills\nTechnical qualifications\nPhysics-based modeling and simulation, including SEM image formation, e-beam interactions, and voltage contrast\nComputer vision and image processing\nMachine learning and AI\nHigh-performance computing, GPU acceleration, and numerical optimization\nC++, CUDA, Python, and modern software development practices\nScientific computing and large-scale algorithm development\nPersonal leadership attributes\nStrong technical judgment and strategic thinking\nProven ability to lead through ambiguity and drive execution\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills\nPassion for building teams, coaching engineers, and developing talent\nCustomer-focused mindset with a track record of delivering impactful solutions\nOther information\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
