ASML systems are widely regarded as some of the most complex machines ever built, with individual tools valued at more than $100 million.\nRole and Responsibilities\nIn this role, you will work from concept through realization, integration, validation, release, and product sustainment. You will partner with mechanical, software, systems, manufacturing, service, and supplier teams to transform complex requirements into robust electrical engineering solutions that support ASML product performance, quality, and customer success.\nTranslate system, module, and stakeholder needs into clear electrical requirements, interface definitions, design concepts, and verification criteria.\n\nDevelop robust electrical hardware solutions for ASML modules and systems, balancing performance, reliability, cost, schedule, compliance, manufacturability, and serviceability.\n\nCreate and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams, functional overviews, technical specifications, test plans, design documentation, and release artifacts.\n\nPlan and support prototype bring-up, design verification, validation testing, qualification, and system integration to demonstrate release readiness.\n\nUse engineering analysis, simulation, lab measurements, and test data to debug issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.\n\nLead or support technical reviews, failure investigations, risk discussions, and decision-making with cross-functional engineering partners.\n\nPartner with suppliers, manufacturing, customer support, and service teams to support realization, production readiness, field issue resolution, and continuous product improvement.\n\nManage configuration, requirements traceability, engineering changes, technical risks, dependencies, and open issues through disciplined engineering processes.\n\nCommunicate technical status, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders and leadership.\n\nFollow ASML environmental, health, and safety policies and proactively identify and mitigate safety risks in design, test, lab, and integration environments.\n\nEducation & experience\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field required. Master’s degree or PhD preferred.\n\nMinimum of 4 years of relevant work experience required.\n\nExperience with electronic design automation tools and printed circuit board design.\n\nExperience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, validation, and verification activities.\n\nSkills\nTechnical & functional skills\nStrong electrical engineering fundamentals, including analog and digital circuits, power distribution, grounding, signal integrity considerations, safety circuits, and system-level tradeoffs.\n\nAbility to work with electrical requirements, specifications, interfaces, verification criteria, and traceability in a complex product-development environment.\n\nFamiliarity with product-development lifecycle practices, including integration, verification, validation, configuration management, change control, and release readiness.\n\nHands-on troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills using engineering analysis, simulation, lab measurements, and test data.\n\nExperience with ECAD, EDA, and electrical design tools such as Mentor Graphics xDX/xPCB Designer, EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, PSpice, or similar tools preferred.\n\nHands-on experience with electronic laboratory equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, electronic loads, signal generators, logic analyzers, or similar tools.\n\nExperience with MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, or other scripting and automation tools for analysis, simulation, test automation, data processing, or troubleshooting preferred.\n\nAbility to communicate technical concepts, design decisions, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nBehavioral & leadership skills\nTakes ownership of complex technical problems and drives them to clear, data-backed resolution.\n\nWorks effectively in ambiguity while balancing quality, speed, risk, and stakeholder needs.\n\nBuilds alignment across teams through clear priorities, collaborative problem solving, and thoughtful escalation.\n\nBuilds trust by surfacing risks early, following through on commitments, and helping teams make informed decisions.\n\nDemonstrates ASML’s values of Challenge, Collaborate, and Care.\n\nShares knowledge, supports peers, and contributes to a learning-oriented engineering culture.\n\nOther\nThis position is located on-site and requires onsite presence for in-person work-related events, trainings, meetings, lab activities, integration work, and collaboration.
