The FLS PE applies structured problem-solving methodologies to diagnose and resolve complex manufacturing, assembly, tooling, test, and qualification issues while driving corrective actions and continuous improvement. Working closely with Production, Design Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams, the FLS PE supports product quality, cycle time, disturbance management, and root cause investigations to ensure stable production performance and customer satisfaction.\nJob Description\nSpends about 75% of time in the Cleanroom providing direct support to production processes and troubleshooting\nProvide efficient response to troubleshoot mechanical assembly issues\nProvide efficient response to troubleshoot electrical cable routing issues\nProvide efficient response to troubleshoot module test and final qual issues\nProvide efficient response to troubleshoot tooling and test stand issues\nDevelop OCAPs (Out of Control Action Plan), Fishbones and troubleshooting guidelines\nSupport diagnostics qualification and implementation for production staff\nEvaluate and disposition failed parts with proposed solutions\nSupport development of manufacturing procedures and technical work instructions\nSupport design and document reviews for diagnostics\nSupport DOA Root Cause Analysis\nSupport cycle time and labor hours roadmaps implementation\nSupport PFMEA\nAble to read mechanical, optical and electrical drawings\nThe employee is required to work in a cleanroom environment:full gowning (full body coveralls, hood, CR safety shoes, face mask, nitrile gloves and safety glasses. Working under ISO 9000/14000 standards).\nWorking around overhead cranes, fork trucks and motorized pallet movers.\nWorking around lasers; working with ladders; working on platforms; and working around chemicals.\n\nEducation\nBachelor of Science in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering\nExperience\nPrior internship or 2+ years industry experience in a production or manufacturing environment.\nHands-on troubleshooting experience with complex mechanical systems in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.\nExperience reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and engineering specifications.\nExperience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and transition to volume manufacturing is a plus.\nExperience in a production environment with high tech products and complex production processes\nWorking knowledge of precision mechanical assemblies and motion systems.\nWorking knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and tolerance analysis.\nWorking knowledge with mechanical tooling and test equipment\nExperience in the field of technical Production Engineering and quality methodology such as statistical process control and FMEA is a plus\nWorking knowledge of Siemens NX, Teamcenter and SAP is a plus\nBasic knowledge of vacuum systems, vacuum components, leak testing, and contamination control is a plus\nPersonal skills\nCapability to interface with multidisciplinary groups (including senior leadership), and be willing to take on responsibility and follow through\nPossess strong ownership characteristics - demonstrated commitment to achieving results on time\nHave strong written and oral communicative skills - ability to communicate effectively to your team and to senior management\nFocus on quality and continuous improvements\nContext of the position\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
