You will help develop a high-level cost model that explains how operational cost drivers influence overall Make & Install costs and supports fact-based decision-making. If you enjoy connecting data, systems thinking, and stakeholder perspectives, this internship offers an opportunity to make a visible contribution.\nYour assignment\nDuring this internship, you will develop and validate a high-level model that creates transparency between cost drivers, cost categories, and total Make & Install costs. You will work with stakeholders from multiple departments and translate complex information into actionable insights and visualizations. The goal is to enable both forward-looking cost impact assessments and backward target-setting from overall cost objectives. Your main responsibilities will be:\nDevelop a high-level cost model linking key cost drivers, cost categories, and total Make & Install costs.\nAnalyze available data to determine model inputs, parameters, and assumptions.\nQuantify how changes in operational drivers influence overall costs.\nTranslate overall cost targets into practical driver-level targets for stakeholders.\nCreate intuitive visualizations and reporting concepts that explain model logic.\nValidate the model through data analysis, stakeholder feedback, and logical testing.\nPresent recommendations for future use, governance, and further development of the model.\nThis is a bachelor/master non-thesis internship for minimum 6 months, for minimum 4 days per week (hybrid). The start date of this internship is as of February 2027.\nYour profile\nTo be suitable for the internship, you:\nAre pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial engineering, systems engineering, operations management, mechanical engineering, data analytics, business economics, econometrics, or a related field.\nHave strong analytical skills and a genuine interest in cost modeling, operational performance, and complex systems.\nHave working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI is considered an advantage.\nAre proactive and take ownership when working in an environment with multiple stakeholders.\nCollaborate and communicate effectively with different disciplines and confidently engage stakeholders at various organizational levels.\nThis internship offers broad exposure across engineering, operations, finance, and program management functions. Throughout the internship, you will build a diverse network, gain insight into how strategic cost decisions are made, and contribute to improvements that support ASML’s business objectives. By the end of this internship, you will have delivered a validated model concept, a prototype solution, stakeholder-oriented reporting, and recommendations that support future cost management practices.\nOther requirements you need to meet:\nYou are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship, and you are at least 18 years old at the start of the internship;\nIf you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement);\nYou attach your cover letter with a clear motivation on why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;\nYou need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship.
