This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.\nControl system software overview:\nThe control loops involve data exchange at speeds up to 100 kHz while data collection for diagnostics purposes is done at up to 1Khz rate. There is interaction between control loops running on quad core boards and platform software that runs on IBM bladecenter. Data is stored on board in postgres databases and is shipped via the fab network to data servers in San Diego. Our graphical user interface developed using Qt serves a complex set of users - operators, engineers, scientists and customers. And we don't forget safety; the control system has a Siemens PLC to ensure both human safety is ensured, and machine damage is prevented. CPDs are user-facing applications that allow operators to perform diagnostics and maintenance. Drivers provide programmatic interfaces for changing physical components of the machine.\nRole and responsibilities\nAs a Software Engineer your responsibility includes:\nWorking in a team of highly skilled software and cross functional engineers responsible for delivering software solutions that enables the ever-increasing miniaturization of semiconductor technology.\nWork in hard and soft real time domain with complex hardware interfaces and various communication protocols and platforms (Xilinx SOC, PLC, TCP/IP, Ethercat, etc.).\nUsing Agile methodology to develop the software using C++ and Python on Linux OS environments.\nCreating designs and Implement code that are modular, scalable, robust and meet customer requirements.\nPerform unit testing and on-target testing to ensure the software meets the high-quality standards our customers expect.\nEvaluation of technical issues, risks, and dependencies for projects.\nInterfacing with stakeholders to gather a complete understanding of their requirements.\nVerify stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture.\nYou will also participate in continuous process improvement activities aimed at ensuring the processes and tools used throughout the software development lifecycle are increasing the team’s ability to develop high quality software in the most efficient manner.\nOther duties as assigned. \nEducation and experience\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related Eng/Science fields. \nAt least 5 years in technical development role with strong software engineering skills.\nDelivered 3+ mid to large scale software projects with demonstrable quality.\nProven ability to guide a team in coding efforts for a distributed control system.
