You will analyze issues reported by Field from customer sites, provide technical feedback and troubleshooting guidance, and develop software tools and test applications that improve diagnostics efficiency and support internal module validation.\nYour responsibilities include:\nActing as a DnE software expert for software and computer-related issues reported by Field from customer e-beam machines\nAnalyzing Field feedback, diagnosing symptoms, identifying possible root causes, and providing practical troubleshooting recommendations\nDeveloping software tools to reduce the effort and complexity for Field engineers when investigating software, computer, and machine-related problems at customer sites\nBuilding diagnostics and automation tools for log collection, system health checks, issue reproduction, data analysis, and root cause investigation on e-beam machines\nSupporting the development of internal DnE module test software, including software for module communication, test execution, result analysis, and validation workflows\nContributing to software solutions involving module communication interfaces, image processing workflows, and image algorithm validation where applicable\nWorking closely with Field, equipment specialists, architects, and software teams to translate technical problems into maintainable software solutions\nWriting clean, maintainable, and well-tested code for diagnostic tools, test utilities, backend components, and integration software\nContinuously improving diagnostics workflows, tool usability, and knowledge transfer between DnE and Field teams\nCollaborating effectively across DnE, Field, application, and equipment domains to drive customer-impacting issues toward resolution\nEducation and experience\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or equivalent\nAt least 5 years of professional software development experience, preferably in equipment, diagnostics, automation, test software, or engineering tool development\nStrong hands-on programming experience with Python and C++\nExperience with at least one GUI framework or library, such as Qt, PySide, WinForms, WPF, or similar\nExperience or exposure to image algorithms, image processing, general algorithms\nFamiliarity with computer and equipment interfaces such as RS232, Ethernet, PCIe, and related communication concepts\nBasic understanding of Windows and Linux driver concepts, device communication, and system-level troubleshooting\nSkills\nEssential:\nStrong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for software and computer-related issues on complex equipment\nAbility to analyze logs, system behavior, communication traces, diagnostic data, and issue reproduction results\nAbility to translate Field-reported customer-site issues into actionable technical investigation plans\nGood software design and implementation skills for diagnostic tools, test utilities, automation tools, and integration software\nGood understanding of operating systems, networking, device communication, and equipment integration troubleshooting\nExperience with Git-based development workflows for engineering software or internal tools\nAbility to communicate technical findings clearly to Field, DnE, application, and equipment stakeholders\nAbility to establish, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux environments for engineering software, diagnostics tools, and test applicationss\nNice to have\nExperience with e-beam, semiconductor equipment, motion systems, imaging systems, or other high-tech equipment\nExperience with image processing, image algorithm validation, motion control diagnostics, or module-level test software\nExperience with equipment communication protocols, hardware interfaces, or module-level integration\nExperience with remote troubleshooting, log analysis platforms, diagnostic automation frameworks, or customer escalation support\nPersonal skills\nCurious and analytical problem solver who enjoys investigating complex technical issues\nAble to understand system interactions across software, computer, communication, and equipment domains\nTakes ownership and drives issues from investigation to practical resolution\nComfortable working with ambiguity in a fast-paced engineering environment\nCommunicates clearly and collaborates effectively across Field, DnE, application, and equipment teams\nTeam player who shares knowledge and supports continuous improvement\nOpen to AI-assisted development, open-source technologies, and new engineering practices\nInclusion and diversity\nASML is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values and respects the importance of a diverse and inclusive workforce.
