Headquartered in Veldhoven, Netherlands, the enterprise is the world’s sole supplier of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines - including next-generation High-NA EUV platforms - alongside a broad portfolio of deep ultraviolet (DUV) systems. Through its global network of R&D centers, manufacturing facilities, and field support services across Europe, Asia, and North America, the organization enables global semiconductor foundries and chipmakers to fabricate advanced logic and memory microchips.

Introduction to the job

ASML operates in a complex global landscape where trade compliance, geopolitics and supply continuity come together. In this role, you will be the SS&P focal point for Trade Compliance and Geopolitical topics and manage trade-related risks and controls.

You will work closely with Legal & Compliance and Government & External Affairs to translate trade compliance regulations and geopolitical developments into clear direction for Sourcing, Supply Chain and Procurement, ensuring the organization remains resilient and future-proof.

Role and responsibilities

The SS&P Trade Compliance & Geopolitical Manager establishes and drives the strategic Trade Compliance and Geopolitical Risk agenda within Sourcing, Supply Chain and Procurement. The role combines subject matter expertise, stakeholder influence and capability development to ensure trade compliance, proactively manage geopolitical risks, and embed these considerations into supplier strategies, category management and business decision-making.

By connecting external developments with internal execution, the role enables SS&P to operate compliantly, resiliently and competitively in an increasingly dynamic global environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Act as the SS&P focal point for Trade Compliance and Geopolitical topics, leveraging expertise from Legal & Compliance subject matter experts where required.
  • Perform SS&P risk assessments and improve the effectiveness of trade compliance controls through automation and data-driven approaches.
  • Assess the long-term impact of emerging legislation on the supply chain and develop potential scenarios. Integrate risk scenarios into category strategies together with the clusters.
  • Act as the key interface toward Legal & Compliance and Government & External Affairs on relevant Trade Compliance and Geopolitical topics. Secure execution across all regions.
  • Define and lead capability step-ups across the organization.
  • Define Trade Compliance performance KPIs to structurally measure progress.

Education and Experience

To thrive in this role, you bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, International Business or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement or trade-related roles within a global environment.
  • Strong interest in trade regulations (for example export controls, customs and sanctions) and how they translate into operational impact.
  • Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks and methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes and align multiple senior functions around shared objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring structure during ambiguity, stabilize escalations and move teams from reactive to proactive action.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence without authority.

Skills

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate external developments into business actions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on risk identification and mitigation.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly dynamic and international environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Other information

  • This role is an individual contributor position and does not include direct people management responsibilities.
  • Please apply with a CV that includes your motivation letter, outlining your interest in the role and highlighting how your experience aligns with the requirements of this position.
