ASO

ASO is a sports event organiser behind international events such as the Tour de France, the Dakar rally and the Paris marathon. The company runs the organisation, media and commercial side of these events and hires staff and work-study students in departments such as its finance and accounting division. The company is headquartered in Boulogne-Billancourt, France.

Company Background

A.S.O. UK is the country’s leading mass participation events company, putting on events each year in triathlon, cycling, and running. Part of Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.), owners of Le Tour de France and the leader in the French running and sportive market, A.S.O. UK’s prestigious portfolio includes the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run, adidas Manchester Marathon and Dragon Ride. The company also specialises in delivering bespoke corporate events, working with businesses such as JLL.

A.S.O. UK’s events bring together an active community of people taking part in sporting events for reasons ranging from fitness, competition, charity, health, fun or to simply finish. The participants vary from first timers of all ages through to World Champions. Collectively, the events raise millions of pounds for hundreds of charities.

A.S.O. UK is a fast-paced, fun place to work with a great team atmosphere. It’s a sociable office of like-minded people with shared goals, values, and interests who take great pride in the events we deliver.

About the Role

Reporting to the Partnerships Director, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, commercially minded Senior Partnerships Manager to take a leading role in delivering and growing high-value brand and charity partnerships across some of the UK’s most established mass-participation events.

As a senior member of the Partnerships team, you’ll have the autonomy to shape partner campaigns, build lasting relationships and identify new opportunities to drive commercial growth. Combining creative thinking with a hands-on approach to delivery, you’ll turn partner objectives into impactful campaigns, taking ownership from initial concept through to execution, evaluation and renewal.

The role offers real breadth, spanning the full partnership lifecycle - from contributing to new business pitches and developing creative ideas to leading campaign delivery, managing commercial negotiations and securing renewals.

You’ll also line manage and develop two team members, helping to shape how we work and drive excellence across the Partnerships team.

We work with an exciting mix of leading brands, charities and corporate partners, including adidas, ASICS, Cancer Research UK, Alzheimer’s Society, JustGiving, Jet2 and JLL.

If you’re a natural relationship builder who enjoys turning creative ideas into reality, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery and creating meaningful results for partners, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

1. Account Management & Partner Relationships

  • Lead the day-to-day management and development of key brand and charity partnerships across multiple events, owning project plans, budgets, timelines and partner communications.

  • Build strong, long-term partner relationships, understanding their objectives and translating them into effective, insight-led campaigns that deliver against agreed KPIs.

  • Lead campaign evaluation and reporting, providing meaningful analysis, audience insights and evidence of partner ROI across reach, media value and wider commercial impact.

2. Campaign Strategy & Activation

  • Develop and deliver end-to-end campaign plans, combining strong project management with creative ideation to deliver engaging, high-quality partner campaigns.

  • Lead activation development from initial concept and scoping through to delivery, managing budgets, suppliers, internal stakeholders, logistics and on-site brand implementation.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance the participant and partner experience through innovative, engaging and commercially effective activations.

3. Commercial Development & Growth

  • Contribute to partnership strategy, identifying opportunities to diversify rights, improve delivery efficiencies and maximise commercial value.

  • Support new business pitches and proposals, developing creative partnership ideas that align with prospective sponsors’ objectives.

  • Drive revenue growth across existing partnerships through upselling, ancillary opportunities and the development of new rights and activations.

  • Take ownership of partnership renewals and contracts, identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships, demonstrate value and secure long-term growth.

4. Event Planning & On-Site Delivery

  • Represent the Partnerships team within cross-functional project teams for the business’s largest events, ensuring partner requirements are integrated into event planning and delivery.

  • Act as Event Lead for selected events, coordinating stakeholders and overseeing delivery.

  • Represent A.S.O. UK at selected weekend events, managing partner requirements and resolving on-site challenges to ensure seamless delivery.

5. Leadership & Team Development

  • Line manage, support and develop two direct reports: a Senior Account Executive and an Account Administrator.

  • Set clear priorities and standards, ensuring effective workflows, robust administration and consistent delivery across the team.

  • Mentor and support junior members of the wider Partnerships team, sharing knowledge and encouraging collaboration and continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

  • Minimum five years’ account management experience in sponsorship, PR or marketing, ideally within the sports sector.

  • Experience across the partnership lifecycle, including campaign planning, partner onboarding, project management, evaluation and renewal.

  • Proven experience managing budgets, project costs and financial reconciliation.

  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, CRM and audience engagement.

  • Understanding of data analysis, campaign measurement and GDPR requirements.

  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, is essential.

  • Experience drafting partnership contracts and supporting commercial negotiations.

  • Proficiency in Monday.com and Microsoft Office.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, with strong planning, organisation and administrative skills.

  • Effective relationship management and communication skills, with the confidence to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

Key Competencies

  • Commercially minded: Identifies opportunities to grow revenue, maximise partnership value and improve efficiencies.

  • Proactive: Takes ownership, anticipates challenges and drives work forward independently.

  • Creative: Develops fresh, engaging ideas that meet partner objectives and enhance the participant experience.

  • Highly organised: Manages multiple projects, deadlines, budgets and stakeholders without compromising on detail.

  • Operationally strong: Translates plans into effective execution, with a hands-on approach to logistics and delivery.

  • Collaborative: Builds positive relationships across internal teams, partners and suppliers.

  • Adaptable: Responds effectively to changing priorities in a fast-paced, event-led environment.

  • An effective leader: Supports, develops and motivates team members while maintaining high standards of delivery.
