You will work end-to-end - from requirements gathering with analysts and business stakeholders, through dimensional modelling and pipeline development in the Azure ecosystem, to the Power BI reports that surface the result. \nThis is a contributor role, not a task-execution role. The team already has people who deliver what they are handed. What it needs is someone who questions whether the right thing is being built, and says so - to peers and to senior stakeholders alike. You will be expected to challenge incumbent patterns, surface risk early, and leave the team’s practice stronger than you found it. \nWhat You Will Do \n\nDesign and build Power BI reports using data modelling, Power Query, and DAX.\nRun analysis and requirements gathering to translate business logic into data solutions.\nCommunicate effectively with data analysts, BI developers, and business stakeholders. \nData Modelling and Architecture \nDesign and implement scalable data marts and BI data models in Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric using dimensional modelling principles (star and snowflake schema). • Implement strategies to manage historical data and slowly changing dimensions (SCD types 1, 2, and 3). \nDesign and document data lineage, transformations, and architecture components. Pipeline Development and Optimization \nDevelop and manage ETL/ELT pipelines supporting both batch processing and near real-time data ingestion. \nOptimize Azure Data Factory objects - tables, views, and warehouses - for performance and cost efficiency. \nMonitor, troubleshoot, and ensure the reliability and accuracy of data pipelines and models. Governance and Ways of Working \nImplement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.\nWork fluently within Azure DevOps and Agile / Scrum methodologies. \nWhat You Bring \nEducation \nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Experience \n6+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or BI data modelling.\n6+ years of proficiency with Power BI, including data warehousing, virtual warehouses, and cost optimization. \nExperience in complex, detailed environments - global organisation architecture and enterprise data solutions. \nNice to have: experience with AX / D365 F&O data entities and manufacturing processes.\nTechnical Expertise \nAzure Data Factory and Synapse Link experience (required). \nStrong SQL skills, with experience in dimensional modelling, data marts, and historical dimensions. \nExperience with data integration tools such as dbt, SSIS, Apache Airflow, Fivetran, or Talend.\n Working knowledge of Azure DevOps and Agile / Scrum delivery.\nHow You Work \n\nYou hold a point of view and state it - including to senior stakeholders and including after a decision has been made when new evidence warrants reopening it. \nYou ask why a process, data model, or reporting standard exists before extending it, rather than replicating a pattern because it is the incumbent one. \nYou surface risk, ambiguity, and weak requirements the moment they are noticed - not at the sprint review, and not at go-live. \nYou work past the assigned ticket: proposing better approaches and improving what sits around the work. \nYou argue from evidence and change position on evidence - comfortable being wrong in public, uncomfortable staying quiet. \nYou are an independent self-learner, delivery focused, resilient, and flexible, with strong written and verbal communication skills in English.\nVisa Sponsorship\nAspenView does not sponsor employment visas for this role.
