In this role, you will be a senior technical contributor within an Agile development team responsible for delivering next-generation industrial software solutions. You will help drive the implementation of strategic platform capabilities, provide technical guidance to team members, and collaborate closely with Architects and product stakeholders to deliver a software-defined, data-centric platform that enables automation for AspenTech's diverse customer base.As a member of the EOP development team, you’ll work on cutting-edge industrial edge-connectivity and distributed-computing projects that surface data from the plant floor all the way to the cloud. The team focuses on building highly performant data services that securely move and manage massive volumes of information. You’ll help create solutions that configure, contextualize, analyze, and visualize data, making it easily accessible to a wide range of applications. Our organization and product are positioned in the market to grow at a rapid pace over the next decade with varied opportunities for career growth.\nYour Impact\nServe as a senior technical resource within a scaled Agile organization, providing mentorship, design guidance, and technical expertise across complax initatives.\nCollaborate closely with Architecture teams to translate high-level system designs into scalable, maintainable implementations.\nDesign high-quality, reliable, performant, and fault tolerant systems to meet strategic business objectives.\nDrive system-level qualities such as scalability, reliability, performance, and security in alignment with platform requirements.\nProvide technical leadership and implementation guidance within an Agile development team.\nMonitor, support, and maintain software products in an Agile development environment. \nDesign, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for both on-premises and cloud infrastructure. \nDebug integration and performance problems.\nContribute to a culture of accountability and collaboration across a variety of support, development, security, and product teams.\nContinually demonstrate adherence to security best practices and compliance requirements.\nStay current with industry trends and best practices around cloud native and Software-as-a-Service technologies.\nDemonstrate effective communication skills as a participant in a variety of Agile ceremonies.\nWhat You'll Need\nA Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.\n8-12 years of related experience OR an advanced degree with less experience.\nStrong understanding of cloud-native technologies, services, architecture, and container orchestration.\nProficient in designing and implementing RESTful APIs\nPractical, experience with several of the following:\nDatabases: MongoDB, Postgres, MSSQL\nProgramming Languages: Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Python, Lua\nFrontend JavaScript Technologies: Angular, React\nContinuous Integration: Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions\nCloud & DevOps: Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Helm, Terraform\nOperating Systems: Windows, Linux\nObservability and Monitoring: OpenTelemetry\nAutomated testing frameworks: Playwright\nIdentity and access management: OAuth 2.0, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)\nArchitecture Expertise: Microservices, REST API Design\nData platforms and integrations: Inmation, Aveva PI Connect, Microsoft Fabric\nWorking experience in the following areas:\nInfrastructure as Code Technologies (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) \nCI/CD Platforms (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines) \nArtifact Management & Security Scanning tools(Artifactory, Blackduck, Snyk) \nGitOps tools (Flux, ArgoCD) and promotion models \nBasic knowledge of IoT or Edge devices and an understanding of their strengths, weaknesses, constraints, and risks.\nExperience with Agile development frameworks such as SAFe or Scrum.\nDemonstrated ability to operate independently, applying strong project-management discipline and driving complex technical intitiatives in fast-changing environments.\nProven experience providing architectural direction, elevating engineering standards, and mentoring developers to strengthen overall technical maturirty.\nDeep proficiency in object-oriented design and advanced debugging techniques, with track record of resovling complex, system-level technical challenges.\nWillingness to contribute ideas and solutions while honoring and supporting the ideas of others.\nPassionate about finding creative solutions to problems, and pride in well-crafted code.\nWork Authorization\nAspenTech will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States. This range represents what we in good faith believe is the range possible for base compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors. This range may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for bonus or variable incentive pay.
