You will experience these qualities of passion, pride and aspiration in many ways - from a rich set of career development programs to support of community service projects to social events that foster fun and relationship building across our global community.\nThe Role\nWe are seeking a full-time Principal DERMS Power System Engineer to support the design, modeling, integration, and operation of distributed energy resources (DERs), including solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV charging, and other inverter-based resources. The ideal candidate will have strong power system fundamentals, hands-on modeling experience, and knowledge of interconnection standards and utility requirements.In this role, the Principal. DERMS Power Systems Engineer will report directly to Manager and Working from AspenTech’ s Medina office, the successful applicant will contribute to project delivery and product management excellence in support of utility customers in the energy management industry.\nYour Impact\nCollaborate with customers and engineering teams to understand requirements and project plans for AspenTech DGM applications\nDesign, integrate, test, and commission advanced control systems for electric utilities.\nInstall and configure DERMS and DER applications.\nCommunicate detailed requirements to internal departments as needed.\nWork directly with customers and remote engineering team members to understand requirements and communicate project plans.\nPerform customer training and consult on power system modeling to ensure the effective use and maintenance of a customer’s power system applications.\nAssist in creating project and product documentation as needed.\nPerform unit testing and tuning to ensure power system applications will meet customer and industry requirements.\nSupport live customer systems using knowledge of power systems and DGM application functionality with clear, logical thought processes.\nStay up to date with the latest industry standards and trends.\nWhat You'll Need\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical field. Master’s degree with an emphasis in Power Systems preferred.\n5+ years of power systems, project engineering, or related technical project implementation experience required.\nAbility and flexibility to travel up to 25% to domestic and international customer sites.\nTechnical background with the ability to apply knowledge spanning renewable and integration of renewable into the electric grid solutions required.\nUnderstanding of DERs and integration DERs back to grid, including operation, control, and optimization.\nExperience with DER modelling\nUnderstanding/knowledge of IEEE1547 and other DER standards and protocols: example: OpenADR, IEEE2030.5\nKnowledge of Virtual Power Plants, DER aggregations.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills; organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills; analytical and problem-solving skills; commitment to providing superior customer service; and ability to multi-task on several projects in a fast-paced environment are required.\nAdditional Qualifications and Experience\nThe ability to utilize scripting languages (e.g., Python, C) for automation or problem-solving will be helpful.\nWork Authorization\nAspenTech will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States. This range represents what we in good faith believe is the range possible for base compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors. This range may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for bonus or variable incentive pay.
