As a Software Developer with focus on software packaging and deployment, you will build and maintain software deployment solutions for our aspenONE software and push the deployment technology to make it easier for our customers to adopt our latest technologies. Based in our Pune, India office you will collaborate closely with other members of geographically dispersed Products teams, coordinating closely with colleagues focused on delighting customers via delivering robust products.Your Impact\nWe are seeking an Installation Developer with 2-3 years of professional software development experience to design, develop, test, and maintain reliable software installation and deployment solutions across Windows and Linux environments.\nThe ideal candidate will have solid programming skills, knowledge of software installation and deployment technologies, and a good understanding of software development practices. The candidate should be a strong problem solver who can collaborate effectively with development, QA, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment.\nThe successful candidate should also be able to effectively leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, debugging, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and overall development efficiency, while applying appropriate engineering judgment to validate AI-generated solutions.\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain software installation packages and deployment solutions for Windows and Linux platforms.\nUtilize Windows Installer, InstallShield, and related installation technologies to deliver reliable, maintainable, and scalable installation solutions.\nDevelop and maintain installation tools, automation, and scripts using C#, PowerShell, Bash, C++, and other appropriate technologies.\nApply sound software development practices to ensure installation solutions are reliable, maintainable, testable, and secure.\nDevelop and maintain automated tests and validation processes to improve installation quality and prevent regressions.\nLeverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity in coding, scripting, debugging, testing, troubleshooting, code review, and technical documentation.\nReview and validate AI-generated code and recommendations to ensure correctness, security, quality, and maintainability.\nCollaborate with developers, QA, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams to understand installation and deployment requirements and develop effective technical solutions.\nWork with container technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes, to support modern deployment environments.\nIntegrate installation and deployment processes with version control systems, such as Git and Perforce, and automated CI/CD pipelines.\nTroubleshoot, debug, and resolve installation and deployment issues using effective problem-solving and root-cause analysis techniques.\nParticipate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing activities within the development team.\nFollow Agile development practices and established software engineering standards to deliver high-quality solutions in a timely manner.\nContinuously develop technical skills and identify opportunities to use AI, automation, and modern development tools to improve engineering efficiency and software quality.\nWhat You'll Need\n2-3 years of professional software development experience, preferably involving software installation, deployment, build, or related technologies.\nGood programming and coding skills, with experience developing reliable, maintainable, and testable software.\nProficiency in C# and/or C++, with experience using PowerShell and Bash for scripting and automation.\nGood understanding of Windows and/or Linux operating systems, including software installation and configuration concepts.\nHands-on experience with Windows Installer, InstallShield, or comparable software installation and packaging technologies.\nGood understanding of software engineering principles and the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.\nGood understanding of software installation and deployment practices.\nExperience with software testing, debugging, and troubleshooting techniques.\nExperience using or willingness to effectively adopt AI-assisted software development tools to improve coding, debugging, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and development efficiency.\nAbility to review and validate AI-generated code and technical recommendations using appropriate engineering judgment.\nFamiliarity with container technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.\nExperience with version control systems, such as Git and Perforce.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD and automated build and deployment processes.\nFamiliarity with SQL and NoSQL database technologies is a plus.\nExperience working within an Agile software development environment.\nStrong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication
