This position is for a qualified engineer to join our team in Japan (Tokyo).\nYour Impact\nReview process flow diagrams and P&IDs and understand process operation and participating in process discussions.\nCooperate effectively in designing testing and commissioning APC applications and able to execute individual phases of a control project (pre-test, plant test, analysis, commission), in small to medium-size APC project under supervision of the Technical Lead.\nUnderstand process issues and how they impact multivariable control design\nDesign control strategies and configure multivariable control systems of small to medium complexity under supervision of the Technical Lead.\nComplete database or schematic changes, implementing complex calculations for data analysis.\nSet up and execute controller simulation for small to medium scope problems.\nUnderstand concepts of closed loop control (computer, DCS, PID control, DMC3 tuning concept) and assist in controller interface database and configuration.\nWhat You'll Need\nBachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience. MS or PhD will be preferred.\n3+ years’ working or academic experience in the field of Multivariable Process Control and Optimization\nDemonstrable communication and team skills.\nUnderstand concepts of data collection and be able to manipulate data files and collections lists accurately. As well as understand concepts of “transformation” and be able to transform variables for data analysis.\nUnderstand the concepts of multivariable identification and be able to proficiently execute data analysis for small to medium scope problems.\nKnowledge of the concepts of multivariable control, concepts of linear programming and LP cost calculations.\nKnowledge of concepts of closed loop control (computer, DCS, PID control, MVC tuning concept).\nAble and willing to travel at least 50% of time sincethe job includes testing and commissioning activities at client sites.No Visa limitation for travelling around most Countries\nFluency in English is required\nFluency in Japanese is required\nOptional Qualifications:\nProficient in Aspen on-line and off-line tools.\nExposure and ability to work with AspenTech APC products will be an advantage.\nCompetence in process units in Refining or Olefins or Polymer processes or other processes as listed in the Overview.
