Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.\nPosition Overview:\nThe Field Technician III serves as an experienced field resource responsible for leading crews, executing advanced testing and maintenance, and troubleshooting complex substation equipment and systems. This role provides technical leadership, ensures safety compliance, and supports engineers and project teams during commissioning and critical field operations.\nResponsibilities\nAdhere to and reinforce all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring proper PPE usage and safe work practices across the team.\nLead job site safety briefings, identify hazards, and implement mitigation measures to maintain a safe work environment.\nPromote and enforce a strong safety culture, holding team members accountable and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.\nLead field execution of testing, inspection, and maintenance of high, medium, and low voltage electrical equipment.\nPerform advanced testing and diagnostics on circuit breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding systems, battery systems, and switchgear.\nTroubleshoot complex electrical and control system issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical expertise.\nDirect repair, replacement, and maintenance activities to ensure proper restoration of equipment functionality.\nSupport installation and commissioning activities, including leading functional testing and system verification.\nInterpret test results and recognize abnormal conditions, escalating issues and recommending corrective actions.\nReview and ensure accuracy of field documentation, including test reports, maintenance logs, and discrepancy tracking.\nCoordinate daily field activities with engineers, project managers, and other crews to ensure efficient execution.\nMentor and train junior technicians, providing technical guidance and reinforcing best practices.\nQualifications\nRequired Skills/Abilities:\nAble to pass a pre-employment drug screen due to this being a safety sensitive position.\n\nComplete a satisfactory criminal background check. \nAble to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time. \nMust have a valid driver's license and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record. \nPreferred Skills/Abilities:\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills. \nExperience with the following test equipment:Power Factor \nDuctor \nMegger \nCT ration & saturation \nHi-Pot \n\nKnowledge of the following equipment:\nCircuit Breakers \nLow Voltage, Medium Voltage, High Voltage | LV/MV/HV \nTransformers \nSwitchgear \nMotors \nPT's & CCVT's \n\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelors or Associates Degree in Electrical/Electronic technology, or Military experience preferred \n5+ Years Relevant Industry Experience \nNETA III Certified \nIndustry Certification Programs preferred -
