Their specialized work facilitates the seamless transition of weather data communications from legacy Time Division Multiplexing circuits to modern Internet Protocol networks, ensuring continuous, reliable, and efficient data transmission. \nCitizenship/Permanent Residency Requirement \nAll candidates must have the following to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance.\nBe a US Citizen.\nHas resided in the US for three (3) consecutive years.\nRealID Driver’s License/ID or current US Passport. \nRelocation Requirement \nCandidate must reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) in Oklahoma City, OK. \nEducation & Experience Requirement \nAll non-US Degrees must have a US Equivalency Certificate provided by the candidate at the time of application.\nA Bachelors (ABET) degree in Engineering or related IT field, such as Physics, Aerospace, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Mathematics.\nExperience with NAS facilities, systems, and equipment is desired.\n9+ years of related work experience. \nRequired Skills \nProficient in C, C++, and Python for model and tool development.\nFamiliarity with hardware system design, schematics, and interconnects.\nExperience with Git source control.\nKnowledge of VLANs, VPNs, NAT, ACLs, and network segmentation.\nSkilled in network monitoring and diagnostic tools.\nStrong understanding of OSI model, TCP/IP communications, subnetting, routing, and switching.\nAbility to:\nWork independently, as well as on a team, in an agile environment.\nResearch, troubleshoot and problem solve quickly.\nLearn on the job/willing to self-teach.\nCommunicate effectively through verbal and written communication with high organization. \nPreferred Skills \nFamiliarity with FAA-specific communication protocols such as Common Message Handling Protocol (CMHP).\nProficiency with enterprise network packet analysis and diagnostic monitoring tools.\nExperience providing Tier-2 engineering and operational support for mission-critical hardware and software systems.\nIndustry-recognized networking or security certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Security+).\nKnowledge of LAN/WAN setup, routing, and switching. \nEssential Daily Job Duties \nDesign, develop, test, and maintain software for weather system applications, including enhancements and bug fixes.\nCreate automation, analysis, and configuration scripts/tools using C, C++, and Python.\nParticipate in code reviews, integration testing, and configuration management throughout the software lifecycle.\nDesign, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN/wireless network infrastructure, including router and switch configuration.\nTroubleshoot software, network, and hardware issues;
