This is a full-time on-site position at the Radar Operations Center (ROC) in Norman, OK. \nThe NEXRAD Systems Engineering team provides comprehensive systems engineering support for the Weather Surveillance Radar 1988 Doppler (WSR-88D), also known as NEXRAD. They deliver essential lifecycle management for the radar's critical processing and networking infrastructure, specifically focusing on the Radar Data Acquisition (RDA) rack, the Radar Product Generator (RPG) rack, and all associated communications infrastructure. \nCitizenship/Permanent Residency Requirement \nAll candidates must have the following to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance. \nBe a US Citizen.\nHas resided in the US for three (3) consecutive years.\nRealID Driver’s License/ID or current US Passport. \nRelocation Requirement \nCandidate must reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to the Radar Operations Center (ROC) in Norman, OK. \nEducation & Experience Requirement \nAll non-US Degrees must have a US Equivalency Certificate provided by the candidate at the time of application. \nA Bachelors (ABET) degree in Engineering or related IT field, such as Physics, Aerospace, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Mathematics.\nExperience with NAS facilities, systems, and equipment is desired.\n6 - 9 years of related work experience. \nRequired Skills \nDevelops and plans techniques to address real-time and anticipated engineering problems, including integrating new products and resolving code review issues.\nProvides support for modernization and enhancement of systems as requested by the government.\nPerforms market research and evaluates needs for updating end-of-life hardware.\nIdentifies needs and drives the development and implementation of major processes.\nHandles and documents trouble calls from product end users when needed.\nSupports ongoing lab activities, including maintenance and development of lab hardware.\nProficient in programming languages and scripts used in model and tool development (C, C++, Python).\nMaintains and develops lab hardware for continued operational support.\nAbility to:\nWork independently, as well as on a team, in an agile environment.\nResearch, troubleshoot and problem solve quickly.\nLearn on the job/willing to self-teach.\nCommunicate effectively through verbal and written communication with high organization. \nPreferred Skills \nProficient with simulation tools for analysis (Matlab, Simulink).\nFamiliarity with hardware system design, schematics, and interconnects.\nDemonstrates initiative with minimal oversight.\nExperience working in a team environment.\nSkilled in developing and authoring technical documentation.\nProvides technical support.\nGood written and spoken communication skills.\nEssential Daily Job Duties \nManage and coordinate engineering projects, including scheduling and overseeing changes from initiation to completion.\nPerform research and maintenance on weather systems hardware and software.\nOriginate, write, test, update, and document projects supporting weather system software.\nLead coordination, drafting, review, and editing of technical reports and drawings for final approval and distribution.\nProvide support using programming languages such as C, C++, and Python.\nDevelop and configure software for system devices and hardware. \nWork
