You will turn user research and business requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready front-end code, working within an Agile team of developers, analysts, and testers. The role blends design thinking with hands-on development and puts the end user at the center of every release.\nThis position is remote; candidate must be U.S. based. Required work schedule is Pacific Standard Time. Working Hours (8am to 5pm PST). \nResponsibilities\nConduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to understand workflows and pain points.\nCreate user journeys, wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes; iterate with stakeholders.\nBuild responsive, reusable front-end components with HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and a modern framework (Angular, React, or Blazor).\nDevelop and maintain a design system and style guide for consistent look, feel, and behavior.\nEnsure Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility compliance and test with assistive technologies.\nIntegrate front ends with RESTful APIs in partnership with back-end engineers.\nApply secure coding practices and support remediation of findings from security scans.\nParticipate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, code reviews, and demos.\nWrite unit and UI tests and document designs, components, and usage guidance.\nRequired qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field, plus 2–5 years of related experience (additional years of relevant work experience may substitute for a degree).\nHands-on front-end development with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and at least one modern framework.\nProficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.\nWorking knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards.\nExperience on Agile/Scrum teams using Git and a work-tracking tool such as Jira or Azure DevOps.\nA portfolio demonstrating UI/UX work from research through delivered products.\nActive DoW Secret security clearance or higher.
