As part of the ASSA ABLOY family, we are committed to innovation, quality, and Guarding What Matters Job Overview The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, and profitability of Wallace Perimeter Security. Reporting to the Managing Director, North America, the role provides strategic direction and oversight for all aspects to the business, including manufacturing, sales, installation, and service operations across North America. The General Manager leads a team of approximately 35 employees through direct and indirect reporting relationships. This position is accountable for overall business performance, including P&L results, while driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, innovation, and sustainable growth. Key Responsibilities\nLead all business operations related to the design, manufacturing, sales, installation, and service of commercial and industrial perimeter security solutions across North America\nProvide leadership, direction, and support to the senior leadership team\nAssume full accountability for P&L performance, including revenue growth, gross margin, operating expenses, profitability, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning\nDevelop and execute strategic and operational plans that support growth and long-term business objectives\nDrive operational excellence, productivity, quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction across the organization\nExpand market presence and support growth initiatives across key commercial and industrial sectors, including critical infrastructure, transportation, utilities, government, and industrial markets\nFoster a culture of safety, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement\nDevelop, coach, and mentor leaders while fostering employee engagement, accountability, collaboration, and high performance\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, and key stakeholders\nPartner with the Managing Director, North America, to achieve strategic, operational, and financial goals while aligning with ASSA ABLOY objectives\nTravel within Canada, the United States, and internationally, as required. A valid passport and driver's licence are required Desired Skills & Knowledge\nStrong business, financial, and operational acumen with demonstrated P&L management experience\nLeadership experience within manufacturing, construction, industrial, or project-based environments\nProven ability to lead, develop, and motivate high-performing teams\nStrong strategic planning, execution, and change management capabilities\nExcellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills\nStrong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical abilities\nAbility to drive continuous improvement, organizational change, operational efficiency, and business growth\nKnowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and business management software Required Education & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered\nMinimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience, including senior management responsibilities with full P&L accountability\nSignificant leadership experience within manufacturing, industrial, building products, security solutions, or a related industry\nDemonstrated success leading multi-functional teams and driving operational excellence, business growth, and profitability\nExperience within the perimeter security, access control, fencing, gate systems, or related industries is considered an asset We are the ASSA ABLOY Group Our people have made us the global leader in access solutions.
