You'll work at the intersection of technical excellence and business impact, ensuring our applications are scalable, secure, and user-friendly.\nWe can only consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Charlotte, NC office.\nKey Responsibilities:\nTechnical Leadership & Architecture:\nDesign and implement complex features and application systems end-to-end\nContribute significantly to architectural decisions for application development\nDrive AssetMark towards target architecture through thoughtful implementation choices\nEvaluate and recommend technical approaches for complex application challenges\nIdentify and address performance bottlenecks in application systems\nAdvanced Development & Quality:\nCreate reusable patterns and components that benefit the entire application development team\nBalance technical debt with feature development alongside secure coding and design library adoption\nImprove development practices and processes, both for squad and across squads\nEnsure code quality through comprehensive reviews and established standards\nUse knowledge of systems and dependencies to bring resolution to incidents/outages\nProcess & Team Leadership:\nLead execution of complex features across multiple development cycles\nImplement process improvements that enhance team productivity and code quality\nCoordinate work across multiple developers and resolve technical blockers\nRun agile ceremonies for the team and train others on effective practices\nBalance quality with delivery timelines while maintaining technical excellence\nMentorship & Collaboration:\nMentor engineers on technical skills and application development best practices\nTranslate business needs into technical solutions in partnership with product managers\nCommunicate technical constraints constructively to stakeholders\nRepresent engineering in cross-functional meetings and strategic discussions\nServe as trusted partner for information security and compliance teams\nKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:\nDeep expertise in application development with modern frameworks and technologies\nStrong understanding of software architecture patterns, microservices, and API design\nExperience with performance optimization, scalability, and system reliability\nAdvanced knowledge of database design, optimization, and data modeling\nExpertise in cloud-native development and DevOps practices\nUnderstanding of security best practices for financial services applications\nProven ability to lead technical decisions and influence architectural direction\nStrong mentorship and communication skills\nEducation & Experience:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field\n5-8 years of software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership\nExperience leading complex application development projects\nTrack record of mentoring junior engineers and improving team processes\nExperience with wealth management, fintech, or regulated industry applications preferred\nStrong background in agile development and cross-functional collaboration\nWhy Join AssetMark?\nLead development of mission-critical applications serving thousands of financial advisors\nDrive technical decisions that shape the future of wealth management technology\nMentor and develop engineering talent in a collaborative, growth-focused environment\nWork with cutting-edge technology while solving complex business challenges\nSignificant impact on product success and advisor experience\nCompensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $165,000-$185,000.\nThis information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.\nCandidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered.
