This senior role involves owning the data pipelines for accounts, documents, move money, custodial integration and Directives (aka change orders), defining product roadmaps and vision, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver major product initiatives. You'll work at a strategic level while maintaining hands-on execution excellence.\nWe can only consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Charlotte, NC office.\nKey Responsibilities\nProduct Strategy & Roadmap:\nOwn entire custodial data and operations platform with full strategic accountability\nDefine product roadmaps and vision for custodial data and operations, maintaining 12-month roadmaps\nEnsure engineering teams are productively deployed and aligned with strategic objectives\nLead cross-functional teams to deliver complex product initiatives such as straight-through processing for account open and move money\nContribute actively to strategy and roadmap development for other parts of the product estate\nProduct Design, Development, & Execution:\nDesign significant and complex new features that may require new platform patterns\nIndependently design user experiences and specify shovel-ready platform enhancements\nDecompose complex product ideas into actionable user stories and lead feature development across multiple teams\nTrack and forecast team capacity, resolving conflicts a quarter or more in advance\nRun multiple complex projects in parallel while maintaining quality and timeline commitments\nQuickly ramp up and contribute to other parts of the product estate as needed\nFiercely protect engineering time to focus on designing, developing, and shipping product\nMaintain strong knowledge of technology stack and architecture for your product area\nLeverage data and technical insights independently to drive strategic decisions\nStakeholder & Ecosystem Engagement:\nServe as a trusted partner sought after by internal stakeholders\nOwn one or more internal stakeholder relationships at senior levels\nDemo all features in your area internally and externally, adapting to audience and purpose\nDevelop comprehensive knowledge of competitive landscape and industry developments\nRepresent product capabilities and roadmap in high-stakes internal discussions\nLeadership & Communication:\nExcel in cross-functional leadership, building consensus and driving alignment across departments\nManage and develop multiple product managers, providing feedback and building team capabilities\nAssess product, design, engineering, and QA candidates of equivalent or lower seniority\nCommunicate effectively with executive leadership, tailoring messages from technical details to high-level summaries\nIdentify opportunities to improve SDLC processes and evangelize adoption across teams\nKnowledge, Skills, Abilities\nProven ability to define and execute comprehensive product strategies for complex money movement, custodial account and custodial integration platforms\nStrong technical acumen including understanding of software architecture, APIs, and engineering trade-offs\nExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills across all organizational levels\nData-driven decision making with advanced analytics and customer insight capabilities\nExperience leading cross-functional teams and driving results without formal authority\nDeep understanding of wealth management, asset management, or fintech industries\nAbility to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution excellence\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field\n5-8 years of product management experience with demonstrated progression in scope and impact\nStrong background in wealth management, asset management, or fintech\nExperience owning complete products or major product areas end-to-end\nTrack record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and complex product initiatives\nExperience mentoring and developing junior product management talent\nWhy Join AssetMark?\nOwn complete products that drive significant business impact and advisor success\nLead strategic initiatives in a dynamic, growth-focused environment\nWork with cutting-edge technology in the rapidly evolving wealth management space\nMentor and develop the next generation of product management talent\nShape the future of financial advisor technology and make a meaningful impact on the industry\nJoin a mission-driven organization with ambitious growth goals and strong market position\nAssetMark values diversity of thought and background and is committed to building an inclusive workplace. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.\nCandidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered.
