As a Development Manager, you’ll lead a team of 5-8 engineers modernizing a mature, business-critical product on a current Angular and .NET stack - and you’ll do it AI-first. Today more than 80% of our code is generated by AI through spec-driven development with Claude and GitHub Copilot. Your job is to take that further: lead the team toward an agent-driven workflow where specs become working, tested features, and prove the results. You’ll own the team’s people, delivery and health, stay hands-on with design and code reviews, and report to the Director of Engineering.\nJob Description:\nWhat You’ll Do:\nLead, coach and grow a team of 5-8 engineers - owning hiring, goal-setting, performance reviews, career development and the hard conversations.\nOwn delivery of the product roadmap: plan capacity, manage risk, and make clear trade-offs between scope, quality and team health.\nTake on the tough problems: own the process improvements that lead to higher-quality, more predictable releases.\nDrive the move from spec-driven development to an agent-driven workflow, and measure its impact on throughput and quality.\nSet the standard for responsible, secure AI use as the tools evolve.\nStay technical: review designs and pull requests, and spend roughly 10-30% of your time coding on prototypes, spikes and unblocking the team.\nPartner with Product Management to shape priorities and turn requirements into specs and designs.\nWork with Documentation, Customer Care, Architecture and DevOps to ship quality releases and resolve customer issues fast.\nWhat We’re Looking For:\nA bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, plus:\n7+ years in software engineering, including 2+ years managing or leading engineers\nA track record of developing people through coaching, feedback and career planning\nExperience owning delivery commitments, capacity planning and risk management\nHands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot, and a point of view on where they should go next\nProficiency in a modern web stack - Angular (preferred) or React with TypeScript, and C# / .NET;
