This position will be responsible for communication and problem solving with the plant and other departments, meeting deadlines, and a multitude of accounting activities, including financial reporting. The Division Controller will be responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Accounts Payable team will report directly to the Division Controller for D&D Ingredients company.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nEssential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:\nAnalyze the organization’s income and expenditures and ensure compliance with regulations and tax laws\nReview and approve journal entries and account reconciliations\nPrepare monthly financial statements and trial balances \nResponsible for month end close and budget planning\nEstablish accounting controls and procedures\nGather and prepare documentation and support for auditors\nCoordinate with the plant for physical inventory counts. \nADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES\nPerform related duties and/or special projects as assigned\nQUALIFICATIONS\nSkills & Competencies:\nAccounting Operations: Knowledge of accounting operations including A/R, A/P, GL, Fixed Assets, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition to ensure accuracy \nData Based Decisions: Demonstrates strong quantitative and analytical skills as they apply to reporting and information processing. Uses various methods to make data-based decisions. \nContinuous Improvement: Design, roadmap and continuous process/control improvement plans, leading implementation of both, including application/system change management for increased efficiency and effectiveness of processes or data.\nAbility to:\nDemonstrate strong analytical abilities and mathematical skills\nBe detail-oriented to prepare detailed reports\nDemonstrate organization and time management skills\nDisplay strong interpersonal communication skills\nInteract with all levels of employees\nPossess good judgment, planning skills and leadership traits\nProblem solve, be a self-starter and handle multiple priorities\nExperience and Training Guidelines:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance\nProfessional certification such as CPA, CMA or CFM a plus\nPractical training or experience in an audit or CPA firm is beneficial, or previous experience in a Controller role\nAt least five years’ accounting experience\nMinimum three years’ preparing financial statements\nAdvanced level proficiency in MS Excel, including experience in vlook ups and pivot tables\nMS Great Plains experience a plus\nSAP experience a plus\nSPECIAL DEMANDSPhysical requirements \nFrequent use of keyboard\nFrequent sitting for long periods of time\nOccasional bending or squatting\nFrequent decision-making and concentration\nFrequent co-worker and/or public contact; occasional working alone\nFrequent exposure to noise\nFrequent reading and close-up work\nWorking conditionsWork is performed in a typical temperature-controlled office environment subject to typical office noise and environment.
