ensure regular and temporary employees are trained appropriately for assigned work \nWork with maintenance personnel on all issues pertaining to function and efficiency of facility; ensure timely follow-up of repairs \nOversee housekeeping program activities for entire work site \nCoordinate logistics for receiving and loadout of all products \nCoordinate production schedule and volume with Dispatch, Trucking and Sales personnel \nProvide coaching and training of employees, including temporary employees; recommend employee personnel actions, including hiring, promotions, disciplinary actions and terminations to the Plant Manager \nRecommend and implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods \nMaintain a safe, clean and efficient work environment; ensure all safety processes and procedures are adhered to and enforced \nCoordinate and schedule all safety and regular employee tailgate meetings \nDevelop knowledge and understanding of all systems in locomotive operation, rail receiving, releasing, rail traffic, scale operation, loadout procedures, sampling procedures, inventory processes and measurements \nPrepare daily and weekly reports for SJVAPCD and SPCC \nADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES\nPerform related duties and/or special projects as assigned\nQUALIFICATIONS\nSkills & Competencies\nBoiler operations and other equipment \nSafety, inventory and maintenance processes and procedures \nComputer systems to create spreadsheets \nTechnical and mechanical systems related to operations \nAbility to:\nTake and follow directions \nMaintain high-quality control standards; effectively problem-solve, supervise and troubleshoot \nGain knowledge of locomotive operations to include scheduling of repairs and maintenance \nHandle multiple priorities and meet deadlines regularly and consistently \nCommunicate effectively with all levels of staff throughout the organization \nStrong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills \nEvaluate employees fairly and objectively \nBuild and maintain positive working relationships with all co-workers and staff, external personnel including BNSF / UP railroad personnel \nWork flexible hours\nExperience and Training Guidelines:\nCollege coursework in technical field desired \nThree (3) years’ demonstrated experience leading and directing a team in a production environment \nMS Office - Excel, Word; SAP experience desired \nStrong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize successfully\nSPECIAL DEMANDSPhysical requirements \nFrequent standing and/or long period of time on feet, occasional bending, and squatting, kneeling. \nOccasional lifting, and/or moving over 75 pounds.\nOccasional grasping, holding and reacting.\nConstant use of overall vision; frequent hearing and talking in person; may be required to wear ear protection or hear in noisy conditions. \nFrequent co-worker contact; occasional working alone. \nAvailable to response to emergency calls; work weekend and or holidays. \nAvailable to climb ladders/stairs up to heights in excess of 100’\nWorking conditionsWork is performed in a typical outdoor environment subject to street or field noise and environment including loud exposure to loud equipment and machinery. Some duties involve working in a typical temperature-controlled office environment subject to typical office noise and environment. Position may require work outside regular business hours, including weekends and holidays.
