This position offers an experienced financial professional the opportunity to contribute to strong financial stewardship, support organizational decision-making, strengthen financial processes and controls, and help ensure ANC continues to effectively deliver programs and services to newcomers and communities across the province.\nKey Responsibilities\nFinancial Management & Reporting\nPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, annual, and program-specific financial reports.\nMonitor financial performance, budget variances, risks, and emerging concerns and provide analysis to support organizational decision-making.\nReview financial processes and internal controls and recommend improvements to strengthen efficiency, accuracy, and accountability.\nPlay a key role in ANC's annual financial audit.\nBudgeting, Funding & Compliance\nSupport the preparation and monitoring of organizational and program budgets, forecasts, and budget amendments.\nOversee financial claims, reconciliations, forecasts, and reporting required under funding agreements.\nMonitor program expenditures and funding utilization and work with program leadership to address budget pressures, projected surpluses, or deficits.\nInterpret contribution agreements and support compliance with applicable financial requirements and reporting timelines.\nSupport financial components of funding proposals, renewals, amendments, and funder audits.\nFinancial Operations & Organizational Support\nMaintain appropriate financial records, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.\nSupport applicable statutory and tax-related financial requirements.\nWork collaboratively with leadership to identify opportunities to strengthen financial systems, processes, reporting, and controls.\nQualifications & Experience\nDegree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.\nCPA or CA, or other international designations are preferred.\nMinimum of five years of progressive experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial reporting, or financial management.\nExperience with financial audits and working with external auditors.\nStrong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, financial reporting, and financial compliance.\nProficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.\nStrong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to communicate financial information effectively to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.\nExperience in a non-profit, government-funded, public accounting, or similar environment is considered an asset.\nProfessionals seeking to transition from public accounting into a non-profit financial leadership role, as well as experienced finance professionals looking for a part-time opportunity, are encouraged to apply.\nWhat ANC Offers\nCompetitive salary\nEmployer RRSP matching program\nComprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits\nEmployee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP)\nGenerous vacation and paid leave\nFlexible work arrangements where operationally feasible\nProfessional development and training opportunities\nConditions of Employment\nLegal authorization to work in Canada.\nAbility to travel as required.\nValid Class 5 driver's license and ready access to a reliable vehicle.\nFlexibility to work outside standard core hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) when required.\nSatisfactory Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.\nHow to Apply\nPlease upload a cover letter and resume in PDF to https://associationfornewcanadians.bamboohr.com/careers/310\nAssociation for New Canadiansis committed to the advancement of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
