Principal Program Manager

Assured is on a mission to modernize insurance. Claims processing (i.e. should we pay this claim?), while often overlooked, is the foundation of the entire industry. It’s currently highly manual, involving phone calls, faxes, and gut instinct, costing tens of billions of dollars a year. We can do better.

We’re looking for an experienced Principal Program Manager to join our Client Engagement team.

In this role, you’ll help turn complex client priorities into clear, executable programs across Client Engagement, Product, Engineering, and client stakeholders. You’ll own the operating rhythm for high-stakes client initiatives, from kickoff and scoping through launch, adoption, and long-term success.

This is a role for someone who can bring structure to ambiguity, keep cross-functional work moving, and build trust with both internal teams and enterprise customers.

P&C insurance industry experience is a strong plus, but not required. What matters most is the ability to learn the domain quickly and build credibility with enterprise clients.

Some of the Work You’ll Own:

Turn client needs into clear execution plans.

Sit between Product, Engineering, and client stakeholders to translate client priorities into scoped initiatives, owners, timelines, risks, and next steps.

Drive high-stakes carrier initiatives from kickoff to launch.

Own the operating plan for client-facing projects, including dependencies, decision points, launch readiness, stakeholder alignment, and the many details that determine whether a rollout feels controlled or chaotic.

Build the Client Engagement operating muscle.

Create the intake, tracking, status, and escalation rhythms that help Client Engagement manage carrier work consistently as Assured scales.

Make risks and tradeoffs visible early.

When timelines shift, scope expands, or dependencies get stuck, surface the issue clearly, frame the options, and help the right people make the right call before it becomes a client-facing fire drill.

Be the translator across clients and internal teams.

Turn carrier feedback, asks, and concerns into clear internal action. Turn Product and Engineering constraints into client-ready explanations that build confidence instead of confusion.

Find patterns across client work.

Notice when multiple carriers are asking for the same thing, running into the same friction, or needing the same support, and help turn those patterns into better processes, product improvements, or scalable client programs.

Keep multiple concurrent initiatives balanced and honest.

Manage the mechanics that keep complex work moving, including RAID logs, dependency mapping, launch plans, follow-ups, status reporting, and critical path management, without adding process for process’s sake.

How You'll Make an Impact:

Improve confidence in client delivery.

Help Assured give enterprise clients clearer visibility, tighter execution, and more predictable launches across complex initiatives. You’ll build trust by being organized, precise, and honest about what is known, unknown, and changing.

Keep everyone aligned without meeting overload.

Build clear status updates, trackers, launch plans, and decision logs so leadership, Client Engagement, Product, Engineering, and client stakeholders can understand where things stand without needing another meeting just to find the answer.

Use AI to move faster.

Use tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and similar platforms to draft project plans, synthesize client feedback, maintain documentation, identify risks, and keep work moving without letting coordination consume the week.

Help scale Client Engagement.

As Assured grows, Client Engagement needs better systems for managing client commitments, launches, escalations, and cross-functional work. You’ll help build the operating model that lets the team scale without losing the high-touch client experience.

You'll Probably Thrive Here If You:

Have deep program management experience.

You’ve led complex, cross-functional work with real stakeholder pressure, shifting timelines, ambiguous requirements, and external customers in the mix. You know how to create structure, drive alignment, and keep teams moving when the path is not perfectly defined.

Are client-facing and internally rigorous.

You can communicate clearly with client stakeholders, then turn around and drive internal follow-through with the right level of detail.

Are comfortable being technical-adjacent.

You don’t need to write code, but you need to understand product and engineering constraints well enough to ask good questions, scope honestly, and avoid hand-wavy commitments.

Can operate without waiting for perfect clarity.

You know how to create structure when the path is still forming. You can identify what matters, what’s blocked, who owns what, and what decision needs to happen next.

Balance urgency with discipline.

You move quickly, but you don’t skip the basics: owners, dates, risks, dependencies, decisions, and follow-up.

Lead through influence.

You know how to get people moving together by being clear, trusted, and relentlessly organized.

Learn the domain fast.

Prior insurance experience is helpful, but curiosity and speed of learning matter more. You should be able to quickly understand claims workflows, carrier operations, product behavior, and the client context behind each request.
