Our work spans nationally significant infrastructure projects, transport networks, major regeneration schemes and strategic nuclear programmes.\nHere is how you can be a part of that switch:\n The role sits within a major marine defence infrastructure programme, supporting the development and delivery of critical infrastructure within a highly secure operational environment.\nThe programme brings together a range of defence stakeholders, client representatives, delivery partners and supply chain organisations, requiring effective coordination, collaboration and engagement across a complex programme environment.\nThe Communications Manager is a key role within the programme team, responsible for developing, implementing and managing strategic communications and stakeholder engagement activities.\nThis is an ongoing position that will provide consistency and resilience across programme communications, supporting effective engagement with stakeholders at all levels.\nWorking closely with programme leadership, delivery teams and external stakeholders, the Communications Manager will ensure clear, timely and coordinated communication across the programme. The role will also support stakeholder engagement and consultation activities, helping to build understanding, alignment and support for programme objectives.\nThe Communications Manager will lead the planning and delivery of communications and engagement initiatives, including events, workshops and targeted stakeholder campaigns, while developing and maintaining strong relationships across the wider stakeholder community.\nWe are looking for a Communications Manager who is:\nExperienced in developing and delivering effective communications strategies and plans for complex programmes, engaging both internal and external stakeholders.\n\nEquipped with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.\n\nConfident engaging and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders with differing priorities and interests.\n\nExperienced in planning and facilitating workshops, events and stakeholder engagement activities.\n\nProactive, highly organised and capable of managing multiple communications activities simultaneously.\n\nAble to provide communications leadership within the programme team, including acting as deputy where required.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nDeveloping, maintaining and delivering the programme communications and stakeholder engagement plan.\n\nManaging internal communications across the programme team to ensure alignment, awareness and effective information flow.\n\nPlanning, coordinating and delivering stakeholder events, workshops and engagement activities.\n\nSupporting the consenting team with stakeholder engagement and consultation activities.\n\nBuilding and maintaining positive relationships with programme stakeholders, delivery partners and external organisations.\n\nMonitoring the effectiveness of communications activities and recommending improvements where necessary.\n\nProviding communications advice and support to programme leadership and delivery teams.\n\nSupporting programme continuity and resilience through broader team leadership responsibilities where required.\n\nEssential Skills & Experience \nExperience developing and delivering communications and stakeholder engagement plans.\nExcellent written, verbal and presentation skills.\nStrong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.\nExperience organising and facilitating workshops, events and engagement activities.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a complex programme environment.\nStrong organisational skills and attention to detail.\nProficient in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.\nDesirable Skills and Experience\nUnderstanding of consenting, consultation or public engagement processes.\nKnowledge of project and programme delivery environments.\nRelevant professional qualification\nExperience supporting senior leaders and providing team resilience or deputy leadership.\nExperience working with multiple delivery partners and stakeholder groups.\n Diversity & Inclusion\nWe are committed to equal treatment of candidates and foster all forms of diversity within our company.
