With over 60 years of experience in highly regulated sectors, the group supports public and industrial stakeholders in the execution of complex and strategic infrastructure projects, subject to high safety and security requirements.\nAssystem mobilizes 8,000 experts in 13 countries and intervenes across the entire project lifecycle, in engineering, project management and digital solutions.\n About the Role\nWe are looking for an experienced Project Planner to join a major infrastructure programme at Hinkley Point C, one of the UK's largest and most complex construction projects.\nWorking within the Project Management Office (PMO) and Area Management Team, you will play a key role in supporting the construction phase by developing, integrating, maintaining and optimising short-term construction schedules across a wide range of Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC (MEH) installation activities.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a planner with experience in large-scale engineering or construction projects who enjoys working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to drive safe, efficient and coordinated delivery.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelop, maintain and update detailed construction schedules covering installation, testing and commissioning activities.\nIntegrate activities from multiple Tier 1 contractors into a single coordinated construction programme.\nConduct schedule reviews and optimisation exercises to improve construction sequencing and delivery efficiency.\nSupport construction teams in identifying and resolving programme clashes, constraints and interface challenges.\nCoordinate activities across multiple workstreams to ensure alignment with wider project schedules and delivery milestones.\nSupport the 16-week look-ahead planning process to ensure work fronts remain unconstrained and deliverable.\nMonitor programme progress and forecast performance against key milestones.\nProduce planning reports, schedule metrics and performance dashboards for project stakeholders.\nWork closely with Construction Management teams to communicate resource requirements, activity durations and delivery priorities.\nUtilise planning systems and digital tools to manage schedule data and enhance project controls.\nCollaborate with 4D planning teams to develop visual construction sequencing and coordination models.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives and capture lessons learned for future project delivery.\n What You'll Bring:\nEssential:\nProven experience in construction planning, project controls or project scheduling within major engineering or infrastructure programmes.\nStrong understanding of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) environments.\nExperience developing and managing detailed construction schedules and short-term look-ahead plans.\nAbility to analyse programme performance, identify risks and develop recovery strategies.\nStrong understanding of construction methodologies, contractor interfaces and site-based delivery challenges.\nExperience working in highly regulated industries such as Nuclear, Energy, Defence, Utilities, Rail, Oil & Gas or Major Infrastructure.\nExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nDesirable\nExperience with 4D planning and digital construction tools.\nKnowledge of NEC contracts and collaborative delivery models.\nPrevious nuclear construction experience.\nUnderstanding of production control and visual management techniques.\nFrench language skills would be advantageous\nQualifications:\nHNC/HND, OND or Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls or a related discipline.\nProfessional membership or working towards membership of a recognised institution such as:\nCIOB\nRICS\nICE\nCIBSE\nRIBA\nEquivalent experience gained on major projects will also be considered.\n Why Apply?\nJoin Assystem and become a key player in delivering critical nuclear projects that shape the future of energy.
