With over 60 years of experience in highly regulated sectors, the group supports public and industrial stakeholders in the execution of complex and strategic infrastructure projects, subject to high safety and security requirements.\nAssystem mobilizes 8,000 experts in 13 countries and intervenes across the entire project lifecycle, in engineering, project management and digital solutions.\n Join a major Defence client supporting critical nuclear facilities and infrastructure programmes within a highly regulated environment.\nWorking as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you'll play a key role in developing and maintaining safety cases, engineering substantiation, and technical assurance documentation that supports safe and compliant operations.\nKey Responsibilities\nAuthor, develop and maintain Nuclear Safety Case and Design Substantiation documentation\nManage design changes, concessions and technical justifications\nPresent safety case submissions to nuclear safety committees\nDevelop and maintain Examination, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing (EIMT) schedules, procedures and associated documentation\nSupport Periodic Reviews of Safety (PRS) and lifecycle safety case activities\nProvide technical advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders\nProduce scopes for Independent Technical Assessments (ITA) and Independent Peer Reviews (IPR)\nApply engineering expertise to support design, operation, maintenance and modification activities in a high-hazard environment\nReview and assess contractor technical reports, safety submissions, calculations and engineering documentation\nProduce robust technical justifications to support the authorisation of design modifications\nContribute to the safe delivery of complex engineering programmes for a leading Defence client.\nWhat You'll Bring\nExperience reviewing and assessing Safety Case documentation within highly regulated environments\nStrong background in producing safety justification and assurance documentation\nAbility to provide expert safety case advice to project teams, contractors and stakeholders\nExperience leading safety reviews, workshops and stakeholder meetings\nKnowledge of hazard identification and risk assessment techniques, including HAZID and HAZOP\nExperience reviewing technical reports, calculations and engineering submissions\nProven ability to develop safety assurance strategies for complex engineering projects\nExperience within the nuclear, Defence or other high-hazard industries\nUnderstanding of safety case delivery, assessment and regulatory compliance\nQualifications\nMinimum HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering or related discipline\nIncorporated Engineer (IEng) status or equivalent experience\nCandidates without a nuclear background must be willing to undertake a Nuclear Introduction course within six months of joining\n⭐ Degree-qualified Engineer (desirable)\n⭐ Chartered Engineer (CEng) status (desirable)\n⭐ Experience within Defence, nuclear or other highly regulated sectors (desirable)\n Why join the Switchers community?\nAssystem has over 55 years of experience in nuclear engineering.
