As a Piping Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of infrastructure across major operational sites.\nSummary of the Role\nYou’ll work alongside Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical, and Building Services Engineers to:\nDevelop and maintain Infrastructure Design Substantiation documents\n\nManage and assess design changes and concessions\n\nPresent design justifications to nuclear safety committees\n\nProduce and maintain EIMT (Examination, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing) schedules\n\nReview and assess Periodic Safety Reviews and technical documentation\n\nProvide expert technical advice to internal and external stakeholders\n\nApply advanced piping and process design principles in a nuclear/high-hazard environment\n\n Experience\nEssential:\nProven experience as a Piping Engineer in industrial plant and machinery environments\n\nStrong understanding of British & European design standards and best practices\n\nPractical experience across concept, detailed design, and construction stages (preferably industrial or maritime projects)\n\nSkilled in design assessment of plant and equipment to withstand hazards\n\nProficient in pipe stress analysis\n\nCapable of producing robust technical justifications and documentation for design modifications in high-hazard industries\n\nExperienced in contributing to multi-disciplinary engineering projects\n\nDesirable:\nPrevious experience in high-risk or nuclear environments\n\nFamiliarity with HAZID/HAZOP and safety case development\n\nExperience in the UK nuclear industry (energy or defence), including safety-related structures, systems & components\n\nKnowledge of UK and US nuclear regulations, codes, and standards\n\nQualifications & Training\nEssential:\nMinimum HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline\n\nIncorporated Engineer status or equivalent experience\n\nWillingness to complete a Nuclear Introductory Course within 6 months (if from a non-nuclear background)\n\nDesirable:\nEngineering Degree (BEng/MEng)\n\nChartered Engineer (CEng) status\n\n Due to the nature of this role the successful candidate will require Security clearance.
