With 8,000 experts across 13 countries, Assystem supports the development of low-carbon energy.\n Job Summary:\nThe System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, maintenance and patching of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure for our ESX, Microsoft Windows & LINUX based platform. This person participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. The System Administrator ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures comply with internal and external standards and security requirements.\nResponsibilities and Tasks:\nEngineering of solutions for internal project and operational needs.\nInstall new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.\nDevelop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.\nContribute to and maintain system standards.\nResearch and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. \nPerform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.\nPerform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.\nSupport daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.\nPerform regular file archival and purge as necessary.\nProvide escalation support per request from various sources; investigate and troubleshoot issues.\nRepair and recover from hardware or software failures. \nOther tasks as assigned by management.\n Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer application\n6-15 years of experience in similar field with large / multinational organization.\nAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task.\nStrong communication skills \nAbility to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.\nProficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.\nExperience in problem resolution with IT systems and individuals\nAbility to interact with users in a clear, concise, professional manner.\nFamiliarity with a majority of the following:Microsoft Windows Server Datacenter 2016\nMicrosoft Windows Server Datacenter 2012 R2\nTroubleshooting ESX issues related to storage, network and performance issues.\nManaging the use of virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V\nManage Active Directory group, user and computer objects, the AD Schema\nInternet Information Server (IIS)\nWindows DNS / BIND / Named\nActive Directory / LDAP\nRedhat Linux\n\nSolid understanding and working knowledge of complete systems development and deployment lifecycle and of all facets of systems administration in a large-scale IT operation unit\n VMware & Microsoft Certification would be given preference.\nWe are committed to equal treatment of candidates and promote, as well as foster all forms of diversity within our company.
