This role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient execution of environmental test activities while driving continuous improvement, developing technical talent, and coordinating closely with cross-functional partners. The ideal candidate combines strong people leadership with hands-on environmental test expertise and a commitment to operational excellence.\nThis position is assigned to Shift 4- Weekend Nights: Friday- Sunday 6:00 pm - 6:00 am (3x12s) 25% pay differential\nDepending on business needs, this role may also have opportunities on:\nShift 1- Days: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. (4x10s).\n Shift 2-Nights: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 p.m.-4:00 a.m. (4x10s) 10% pay differential \nShift 3- Weekends: Friday-Sunday, 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. (3x12s) 20% pay differential\nKey Responsibilities\nLead daily Environmental Test operations, including thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, acoustic, and related environmental testing activities\nPlan, prioritize, and schedule work to meet program milestones, shifting priorities, and delivery deadlines\nAssign tasks and manage technician workloads to optimize throughput and resource utilization\nAuthor, maintain, and train staff on environmental test procedures, SOPs, and quality/process documentation\nMonitor staffing levels, test throughput, and equipment utilization; prepare and present performance metrics to leadership\nTroubleshoot test anomalies, failures, and non-conformances; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions\nEnforce compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations across all environmental test operations\nMentor, train, and develop technicians through performance feedback, coaching, and skills development\nSupport hiring efforts and onboarding to grow and sustain team capability\nCollaborate cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Facilities teams\nPromote cross-training initiatives to increase organizational flexibility\nProvide hands-on support with environmental testing as needed to ensure successful test execution\nQualifications\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline or equivalent practical experience\nExperience\n2-3+ years of environmental testing experience (thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, acoustic, etc.) in aerospace, defense, electronics, or a similar industry\n1-2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience (Lead Technician, Shift Lead, Supervisor, or equivalent)\nExperience with root cause analysis, non-conformance reporting, and corrective action processes\nPreferred Qualifications\n3-5+ years of environmental testing experience in aerospace, defense, electronics, or similar high-reliability industries\n1-3+ years of people leadership or supervisory experience\nStrong understanding of environmental test equipment, instrumentation, and metrology\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, test plans, and technical documentation\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills\nSoft Skills\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills\nEffective time management and organizational abilities\nProven ability to lead teams in fast-paced, high-accountability environments\nContinuous improvement mindset with attention to detail\nTechnology Stack\nMicrosoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) or similar productivity tools\nFamiliarity with test data systems, documentation control systems, and quality management tools preferred\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer or test equipment\nAbility to lift up to 15 pounds as required\nAbility to traverse manufacturing and test facilities safely\nThis job description may not be inclusive to the duties and responsibilities listed.
