Position Overview

We are seeking a Gateway Antenna Engineer to monitor the connectivity and operational status of global gateway and telemetry stations, providing service assurance through real-time monitoring and incident resolution. This role troubleshoots anomalies and network failures, performs preventive and corrective maintenance on satellite teleport systems and infrastructure, and provides first-line, customer-facing technical support. This person collaborates closely with cross-functional teams for escalations, upgrades, and system changes, and operates fault management systems to track network health and performance. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor connectivity and operational status of global gateway and telemetry stations.
• Troubleshoot anomalies and network failures, conduct root-cause analysis, and escalate as required.
• Maintain detailed incident documentation, manage trouble tickets, and generate reports.
• Ensure service assurance through real-time monitoring and incident resolution.
• Provide first-line, customer-facing technical support (phone, email, chat).
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on satellite teleport systems and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for escalations, upgrades, and system changes.
• Operate and maintain fault management systems to track network health and performance. 

Qualifications 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years' experience in Satellite or Cellular Communications.
• Hands-on experience with RF systems, high-power amplifiers, converters, antenna drive systems, and baseband equipment.
• Solid knowledge of IP networks, fiber optics, modems, multiplexers, and broadband systems.
• Proficiency in remote monitoring tools, system diagnostics, and remote desktop platforms.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated experience with monitoring and fault management tools. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
• Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic, fast-paced operational environment. 

Technology Stack:

• RF systems, high-power amplifiers, converters, and antenna drive systems.
• Baseband equipment, modems, and multiplexers.
• IP networks and fiber optic broadband systems.
• Remote monitoring, system diagnostics, and remote desktop platforms.
• Fault management systems for tracking network health and performance. 

Physical Requirements  

• Must be available for on-site work at the Lanham/DC office.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces or elevated locations to access antenna and RF equipment.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, on-call, or outside standard business hours to support continuous gateway and telemetry station monitoring.
