The technician will be responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting advanced electric propulsion components and subsystems, ensuring that products meet stringent aerospace and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and control systems, as well as experience in high-reliability manufacturing environments.\nKey Responsibilities\n Assembly & Integration\nAssemble and integrate mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic components for electric propulsion systems (thrusters, power units, fluid systems).\nPerform precision alignment and mounting of propulsion components using specialized tools and fixtures.\nInstall sensors, actuators, harnesses, and control units.\nTesting & Calibration\nConduct functional, electrical, and mechanical tests on propulsion subsystems, including leak checks, vibration tests, and thermal cycling.\nPerform sensor calibration, actuator tuning, and electrical continuity tests.\nRecord and analyze test data to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.\nTroubleshooting & Maintenance\nDiagnose and resolve assembly, wiring, and control system issues.\nExecute preventive maintenance and repairs on assembly equipment and test rigs.\nProcess & Documentation\nFollow work instructions, technical drawings, and schematics with high accuracy.\nDocument assembly steps, test results, and any deviations or non-conformities.\nSupport continuous process improvements and participate in root-cause analysis for failures.\nCollaboration & Compliance\nWork closely with engineers, quality teams, and production supervisors to ensure smooth operations.\nAdhere to aerospace manufacturing standards, ESD controls, and cleanroom protocols when required.\nComply with all safety regulations and environmental requirements.\nQualifications & Skills\n Education:\nAssociate degree or technical diploma in Mechatronics, Aerospace Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree is a plus).\nRelevant certifications (IPC, NASA-STD, or similar) preferred.\nTechnical Skills:\nProficiency in reading mechanical and electrical schematics, 3D CAD drawings, and assembly instructions.\nExperience with electrical wiring, harnessing, and PCB assembly.\nFamiliarity with sensors, actuators, and control systems.\nKnowledge of vacuum systems, propulsion technology, or high-voltage components is a strong plus.\nOther Competencies:\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\nAbility to work under minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.\nExcellent communication and teamwork abilities.\nPhysical & Work Environment Requirements\nAbility to work in a cleanroom or controlled environment when required.\nComfortable with standing, lifting components (up to 25 lbs), and working with precision tools.\nAvailability for flexible shifts, including potential overtime.\nThis job description may not be inclusive to the duties and responsibilities listed.
