Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected.\nPosition Overview\nWe are seeking a Senior Software Integration Engineer to join AST SpaceMobile’s dynamic defense team. This role focuses on integrating multiple software components, modules, and third-party libraries into a cohesive, functional system for our space-based platforms. The ideal candidate will create and manage the software integration environment, develop automation scripts, and troubleshoot complex issues at the intersection of different software modules. This is an onsite role in Tysons Corner, VA.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform hands-on integration of various software components, including firmware, embedded applications, and signal processing algorithms, onto target hardware.\nDevelop and maintain software integration plans, procedures, and automated scripts to streamline the build and deployment process.\nCollaborate closely with software development and systems engineering teams to define software interfaces (APIs) and resolve integration dependencies.\nConfigure, manage, and maintain the software integration environment, including build servers, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines.\nTroubleshoot and debug issues during software integration, performing root cause analysis and implementing solutions across teams.\nDocument integration processes, software builds, and release configurations to ensure repeatability and traceability.\nSupport system-level testing by providing stable software builds and assisting with software-hardware integration verification.\nQualifications\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.\nExperience:\nA minimum of 5+ years in software integration, DevOps, or software engineering, preferably in aerospace, defense, or telecommunications environments.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), or software-hardware integration.\nActive U.S. Security Clearance required.\nSoft Skills\nStrong interpersonal skills and proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and team coordination.\nMeticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy of integration processes and deliverables\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills for troubleshooting complex systems.\nTechnology Stack\nProgramming and scripting languages: Python, C/C++, Bash.\nVersion control systems: Git.\nBuild automation tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration environments. \nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods.\nOccasional travel may be required for team collaboration or system testing.\nThis job description may not be inclusive to the duties and responsibilities listed.
