This role will contribute to both new product development and ongoing improvements, ensuring successful delivery of hardware from concept through integration and testing.\nThe ideal candidate is hands-on, innovative, and thrives in a fast-paced environment, collaborating cross-functionally to bring complex mechanical systems from design to deployment.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign and develop mechanical systems and mechanisms, including performing analysis and trade studies to optimize performance, efficiency, and manufacturability\nExecute detailed engineering design work in accordance with established standards, procedures, and program requirements\nCollaborate with internal teams to support system integration, assembly, and testing activities\nPartner with external vendors by defining requirements, reviewing designs, and tracking development progress\nDevelop and maintain mechanical documentation, including requirements, drawings, interface definitions, and test procedures\nDefine and validate mechanical interfaces between subsystems and components\nSupport qualification testing (e.g., vibration, thermal, environmental) and evaluate results\nTroubleshoot hardware issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions\nPresent technical findings and design updates during reviews with cross-functional teams and stakeholders\nIdentify and implement process improvements, new technologies, or innovative design approaches\nQualifications\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field\nExperience:\nA minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design and analysis, preferably involving complex systems or hardware development\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAdvanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field\nAdditional experience in aerospace, space systems, or other high-performance environments\nFamiliarity with multidisciplinary systems involving electrical or software components\nExperience supporting hardware through full lifecycle (design to testing and delivery)\nSoft Skills:\nStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams\nProven problem-solving mindset and sense of ownership\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nMeticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy of all documentation and deliverables\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment\nTechnology Stack:\nCAD Tools: Experience with industry-standard 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or similar)\nAnalysis Tools: Familiarity with engineering analysis methods (e.g., FEA)\nData/Documentation Systems: Experience with PLM/PDM systems\nGeneral Tools: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to work in both office and laboratory environments\nCapable of working hands-on with hardware, test setups, and precision instruments\nAbility to lift and move up to 25 lbs as needed\nAbility to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer or performing hands-on tasks\nAvailability for occasional extended hours to support critical project milestones\nThis job description may not be inclusive to the duties and responsibilities listed.
