In this role, you will address material and process challenges, develop scientific-driven solutions, and contribute to both research and industry projects involving composite mechanics, process innovation, and data or AI enabled process development. The scientist is required to support both industry and R&D projects where process innovation, structural testing and material characterizations are needed. Experience in project management, grant writing and patent applications will be advantageous. Basic knowledge of composite mechanics, CAD design, finite-element analysis and machine learning is required.\nJOB DESCRIPTION\nResearch on rapid forming and moulding of fibre reinforced thermoplastic composites in multiple matrix systems.\nWorking with a team of scientists and engineers to enhance the capability of Out-of-autoclave and compression moulding technology.\nFormulate scientific research direction and innovative proposals to secure competitive funding\nDesign and customise manufacturing equipment and system for innovative solutions to industry problem statements.\nFamiliar with CAD and CAE tools, SolidWorks, machine learning tools etc.\nDeep knowledge of a wide range of forming technologies of metal, composites, and polymer materials\nConduct mechanical tests, testing tool/jig design and material characterizations.\nStrong experimentalist with hands-on experience in materials or process development.\nPrepare project progress update presentation for customers.\nPrepare research project proposals, presentations, and reports, conduct R&D experiments and file technology disclosures.\nSupport in the process equipment set-up, laboratory operations, and inventory management for export control items.\nKeep a good record of production work orders, laboratory data, methods, results, drawings, etc. \nAble to perform well in both industry-type and research-type projects.\nJOB REQUIREMENT\nPh.D. in Aerospace/ Mechanical Engineering, etc.\nFresh graduates with strong fundamentals in material science and mechanical engineering are welcome\nExperienced with composite moulding machine operations and process troubleshooting\nGood track record of scientific publications in top journals and conferences\nWe value the following soft skills:\nExcellent technical presentation and scientific writing skills\nCan-do attitude and ability to work with different needs of various stakeholders\nProactive team player and technically motivated to solve problems and discover new research topics.\nCompetent in the use of 3D modelling, process simulation and FE structural analysis will be a bonus\nMeticulous, fine attention to detail and technically inclined towards process and laboratory work.\nWilling to learn new skills.\nComfortable with customer/vendor interactions and handling project
