These applications span multiple industrial sectors including semi-conductor, aerospace, precision engineering, and biomedical manufacturing.\nJob Description:\nThe Optics and Imaging Systems (OIS) Group is a one-stop provider of automated optical inspection technologies. The Group collaborates with academic institutions, co-develops equipment and devices with industry partners, and provides technical services and training to the manufacturing industry.\nThe successful candidate will work closely with senior colleagues within OIS to strengthen the Group’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) development capabilities in the following areas,\nCustomised inspection systems for real time detection in production lines\nAdvanced imaging-based inspection equipment for quality control in manufacturing\nSupervised estimation and self-supervised estimation of dimension for measurement of distance, depth and thickness etc.\nThe key roles & responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nDesign of training methodology and development of AI modules in the following areas,segmentation of target objects in images with strong background noise,\ndetection and categorization of multi small objects in large images,\nrecognition of irregular complicated pattern/structure\ndepth estimation with stereo vision image\n\nDesign of training strategies for high accuracy detection with small sample size including research for auto selection of valid training images within a larger image population \nImage processing for rule based inspection and detection\nEvaluation of commercial and open-source tools for AI, deep learning and related technologies\nAssist in training courses in AI-driven image processing and analysis with AI technology.\nJob Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or relevant computing engineering.\nExpertise in Machine Learning and Deep Learning, including knowledge in frameworks, convolutional neural networks, large datasets, labelling tools, model optimization etc.\nKnowledge of Computer Vision is preferable.\nExperience with OpenCV or similar libraries.\nProgramming Skills:Proficiency in Python.\nExperience with VC++ for image processing and hardware control.\nFamiliarity with software development best practices (version control, testing, debugging).\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills for engaging with peers and management.\nSelf-moted, adaptable, proactive, and a team
