Please be sure to check email regularly for information regarding our employment process.\nRole Title: AVP, Accounting Operations\nThe AVP in Accounting Operations is responsible for leading the day-to-day accounting operations function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, timely close processes, and operational excellence. This role oversees accounting staff, oversees payroll and expense accounting, manages balance sheet reconciliations and journal entry processes, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and partners closely with Finance, Operations, Actuarial, IT, and external stakeholders to support organizational objectives.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close activities.\nEnsure timely and accurate preparation, review, and approval of journal entries.\nOversee balance sheet reconciliations and resolution of outstanding reconciling items.\nMonitor financial results and perform variance analysis to identify trends and risks.\nSupport internal and external reporting requirements, including audit requests.\nEnsure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.\nCoordinate audit activities and provide supporting documentation as needed.\nMonitor adherence to accounting procedures and identify control enhancement opportunities.\nManage and develop a team of accounting professionals through coaching, performance management, and career development.\nEstablish priorities and allocate resources to meet close and reporting deadlines.\nIdentify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes and reduce manual activities.\nLead initiatives focused on automation, standardization, and operational efficiency.\nCommunicate financial and operational issues, risks, and recommendations to leadership.\nSupport strategic projects, acquisitions, integrations, and business initiatives as required.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.\nCPA preferred.\n7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.\nStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.\nExperience with general ledger systems, account reconciliations, and close processes.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.\nExcellent communication and leadership abilities.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.\nPreferred experience overseeing Fixed Asset accounting, Intercompany/Inter-unit accounting, expense accounting, and Payroll accounting functions, including related reconciliations, controls, reporting, and process improvements.\nCritical Skills \n At Resolution Life, we have identified the following critical skills which are key to success in our culture:\nCustomer Focused: Passionate drive to delight our customers and offer unique solutions that deliver on their expectations. \nCritical Thinking: Thoughtful process of analyzing data and problem-solving data to reach a well-reasoned solution. \nTeam Mentality: Partnering effectively to drive our culture and execute on our common goals. \nBusiness Acumen: Appreciation and understanding of the financial services industry in order to make sound business decisions. \nLearning Agility: Openness to new ways of thinking and acquiring new skills to retain a competitive advantage. \nLocation\nWest Chester, PA (3 days/week in the office)\nResolution Life US is committed to disclosing a reasonable estimate of the base salary for our job roles.
