Enjoy working the school calendar!\nUnder the supervision of the Special Services Coordinator, the assistant is responsible for supporting the development and coordination of services to children with special needs (Dutchess and Greene countries). This includes monitoring, observation and direct work with teaching teams, mental health support and knowledge, and compliance with various regulatory bodies.\nJob Responsibilities:\nSupports Special Services office to coordinator services for children in Astor SED classrooms.\nProvides resources to education staff regarding child development, challenging behavior, and special teaching techniques in conjunction with the Education Services Team.\nObserves specific children in the classroom environment.\nConsults with staff regarding adapting then environment to meet the needs of children and formulate a plan for service delivery.\nAssists center staff in working closely with parents of children with special needs including ongoing communication, referrals, conferences, and home visits.\nSupports home-based staff to ensure quality mental health service and developmentally appropriate activities during visits, including accompanying staff to home as needed.\nCollaborates with primary prevention specialist to complete consultations as needed.
